    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Rated5out of5byfromOsprey Porter travel pack duffelwe used this product traveling both train, and auto, car camping, and over seas flight. The versatility of this product is outstanding, as we're able to utilize the pack sac straps as well as the duffel handles. The 65l capacity is perfect for those 3-7 day trips either packing around hotels/vehicles, as well as euro train traveling over seas.

Rated4out of5byfromGreat Gear BagGreat bag. Easily fits all my climbing gear including rope, quick draws, helmet and two pairs of shoes. Only con is that it is already starting (after 2 weeks) to show a some wear and tear on the bottom of the bag. I will have to be more careful with where I set it down.

Rated5out of5byfromLight weight, holds a lotI really wanted a bag that I could carry on my back instead of wheels. This bag was great! It held 6 outfits, 2 pairs of shoes, pjs, swimwear, and the full size REI toiletry kit. I had room for gifts too. Not too heavy, and all the straps have a garage for storage. Fit in the overhead compartment on the plane easily.

Rated4out of5byfromLight weight bag for city to city travelMy husband and I just shared this bag on a month long trip in Europe with 8 stops and we loved it. The way the front panel unzips so you can see and access everything in the bag without unpacking is great. We loved the way the straps slip into the bag so it's not difficult for air travel when you need to check the bag. The bag is super light and high quality - especially the zippers. We appreciated the inside pockets to keep some stuff separated out. We also liked the way the compression straps worked. We're both pretty confident that if the bag wasn't fully loaded and was compressed, you could use it as a carry-on on an airplane. The only downside is that when it was loaded up, it was heavy and because the straps are on the thin side and the waist belt isn't padded, it was uncomfortable to carry for long distances. If you're looking for the most comfortable, padded bag to carry, this isn't it. Wouldn't recommend it for a backpacking trip with a lot of hiking or hauling, but it's perfect for easily and quickly moving your stuff from point A to B over cobblestones or up and down stairs. We considered a lot of different bags and were both so glad we chose this one. We almost talked ourselves into a backpack with a lot of dangling straps that would need to be bagged for air travel and a bag that converts from a backpack to a roller. In the end we decided we wanted the leanest, meanest bag we could get and the porter really did a great job.

Rated4out of5byfromGreat for designed useI have traveled extensively, world wide, with the Porter 65. For its designed use, it is good equipment. Not made for extreme expeditions, it is simple and clean, durable and even with all my extended travel gear I found out it floats !

Rated1out of5byfromThin, no-cushion shoulder strapsI used the Osprey Porter 65 to travel to the Indian Himalayas for one month, and it was not loaded down. Nonetheless, after 10-15 minutes, I found that the pack was extremely uncomfortable. The shoulder straps are thin, cheap straps that dig into the shoulders because they have no cushion. For example, all of my daypacks, including my REI Lookout 40 bag, have considerably higher quality shoulder straps that are wider and have much more cushion, which is rather odd considering how much smaller their capacity is. To top it off, the breast strap snapped off during the 2nd or 3rd day of use, something that I've never had happen in 25 years of using backpacks. I am going to attempt to return this backpack to REI. If I cannot return it, I will attempt to replace the straps. If I cannot do that, I will use it as a camping storage bag and never use it again as a backpack. The other aspects of the bag are good, including the capacity, general functionality, and how the straps tuck away for transit on planes or buses. But it's painful to use as a backpack, and for that design flaw alone, I cannot give this more than one star.
