Comments about Detours Madison Rack Trunk:

I really do love this bag. It's incredibly cute and functional and I use it almost every day. I mainly use it to commute to work and mill around the city. It looks great on my bike and it is sturdy and easy to attach to my rack. The shoulder strap and handles also make it really easy to carry around like a normal handbag - it's not awkward to carry like some panniers.

The two things that are cons about this bag are where it's situated on the rack and the small size of the inside of the bag. Because it sits atop your rack and doesn't hang from the sides like most panniers, it makes the back of your bike fairly top heavy and awkward at times. This might not be that big of a problem for most people who have a normal sized bike (my bike is tiny because...I'm tiny). It's just something you have to get used to - really not a huge deal, but worth mentioning. Also, and this may be a pro for some people, but the bag is fairly small - meaning you're limited with what you can carry. It's a tight squeeze when i bring my lunch, change of clothes, my bike lock and a light jacket. Again, some people may be looking for a smaller bag for short commutes, millin' around town, etc. If so, this is the bag for you! Also, it looks fairly large on my Salsa Casseroll...as previously mentioned, my bike is tiny. It is just an optical illusion. This bag is small.

Overall, I love the bag and am very happy with my purchase.

Comments about Detours Madison Rack Trunk:

I am a commuter cyclist (24 miles round trip from home to work) and am so pleased with my purchase of this bag that I mainly use for commuting. I began cycling to work last year and purchased a cheap rack bag that had Velcro straps on the bottom to secure it to the rack. The Velcro soon wore out and I purchased a few others and ended up returning them because they were way too small. I commute to work (where I have a shower/towels available) so I'm packing only the necessities i.e. shoes, work clothes, wallet, small bottles of shampoo/conditioner. This bag is the perfect size and so versatile! It is well made and is much higher quality than some of my past bags. Two of my favorite features on this bag that differentiate it are the 4 straps with quick-release buckles and the hidden handles/strap that tuck away into the sides. The buckles really keep it so much more secure than Velcro so I know my bag isn't going anywhere! The handles are perfect for when I have to get off my bike and take the bag with me. It's so quick, easy and lightweight I would recommend this bag over and over to anyone looking for a quality rack bag.

I never write reviews but felt people should know how great of a bag this is if you're looking for something you can pop on and off your rack and carry around easily. Happy cycling!
