The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
Rated5out of5bybigtoad78fromExcellent packAfter doing quite a bit of research on dog packs, I chose the REI Classic, and I am definitely not disappointed.
I mainly wanted a pack we can use for daily walks, but would also be durable enough for biking and day hiking. It's very easy to take it on and off, so it's practical for daily use... and the cam locks make for easy adjustment.
The material, zippers and snaps are high quality, and the leash attachment ring looks like it can take some abuse.
Pockets are pretty large, and the only con I can think of for this pack is that there are no dividers inside the pockets, but I knew that before ordering so it's not a big deal to me.
I bought the medium for my 8 month old Husky mix, and it is just a little bit loose with everything tightened as far as it will go, but it will be the perfect size once he is full grown.
Rugged, easy to use, roomy pockets and not too bad on the budget... exactly what I needed, and highly recommended!

Rated4out of5byTammy in OCfromHold up strongPrimarily used for daily walks and it helps to "slow" him down when he gets excited. We even use it for a quick grocery shopping and other things! The pack stays put and it's durable (jam it full, average 8-12 lbs weight). Be great to have more pockets or volume since he's a strong dog. LOVE the back mesh, that's why we bought it.

Rated4out of5byAaJfromREI Classic Dog PackWe took our American Staffordshire Terrier out for a snowshoeing adventure and had a lot of fun. He got to carry his own pack with snacks and water, we were careful to have it properly balanced on both sides. Their was plenty of room for what we wanted him to carry. The pack sat perfectly on his shoulders, we kept checking for rubbing but even after snowshoeing 6 miles on rough terrain with him running all over the place...he had no raw spots or injuries from the pack. It was perfect! The straps adjusted nicely, only downside is that he's in between the small and Medium size. He has large shoulders and neck with a small ribcage/waist. It was difficult to properly fit him, it would be nice if they had more variations of sizes.

Rated4out of5byTender BransonfromMakes Every Walk an AdventureMy dog loves this thing. He has lots of nervous energy and is easily excited but when he sees his pack come out he stands very still while I put it on. We only use it to carry his water & maybe a snack. I think he gets a sense of responsibility with his pack and it helps him control his impulsive behaviors but I may be projecting.

Rated4out of5byStinesfromGreat gift for your best friendThere's a lot of room for our guy to carry water and whatever else he may need on the trails. The only reason he knows it is on him is because of the added weight we put in the pack itself.

Rated5out of5byKevtacularfromAwesomeGot this for my dog and she took to it very quickly. Once its adjusted it stays pretty well, however some of the clips can become loose as your dog is trekking. My dog is 45 lbs and a small was perfect.

Rated3out of5bycobarfromGreat designIsabel picked the REI pack because the features were better than the other packs. I am a 1 year old Australian/Greman Shepard mix 30-35 pounds. Small is to small and would not adjust large enough. Medium is to big and will not adjust small enough on my chest strap. I got by on the breast and flank strap because they adjust down more but still could be tighter for all my althletic moves.
Claim is that it is highly adjustable but it will only adjust down to the size of the chest/flank padding. I hope UncleMoose will remove these pads and make me a custom pad that fits or he could just carry my gear. Hopefully, I will fill out before I wear it out cause I love rolling in the snow, pine duff and dragging it on rocks. I have even taken a swim with it on.

Rated5out of5byKyle FfromGreat purchase for my PittI bought this pack so that I could carry more of my own gear for longer trips. I was able to fit her REI food and water bowl with 5 days of food (I did carrier her water). Not only was it functional and good looking but it was reasonably priced compared to ruffwears comparable dogpacks. One unexpected use was safety which I learned fast would become important. My 3 yr old pitt had come a little to close the edge of a steep drop off a few times and I was able to grab her quickly and get her up to safety. This was a life saving tool for my trip and couldn't be happier I bought it.
