Comments about MSR MicroRocket Stove:
I love this stove. It is super lightweight. It is very compact, and fits easily inside of my cookware. My very favorite part is that you can actually cook with this stove because you have a lot of control of the heat. I like to eat; I don't like to carry unnecessary weight. This is the stove for me!

Comments about MSR MicroRocket Stove:
Great stove for light backpacking. Cannot speak for ultralight.
For light backpacking, this works great, fits into most cook sets in some way, with a cartridge of fuel.
Pros, great heat output, good temp control.
Cons, stove on a cartridge becomes kind of tippy, so you need to be careful. Cartridge is only useable once, so no refills on the trail, unlike a liquid fuel stove, heaven forbid. You need to pack it out (same for any cook set). And it cannot be reused (unlike this comment).
Best uses are for those trips with planned hot foods and short backpacking trips (aprox 4 days, for 4 people, max).
4 stars only because the cartridge is not refillable.
Happy Trails!

Comments about MSR MicroRocket Stove:
The Micro Rocket is lighter and more compact then the Pocket Rocket, too bad it doesn't cut it for a lot of ultra light solo gear. The pot stands are too far apart for my Evernew Sierra Cup (3" base) and my Evernew 700ml Pasta Pot (3 3/4" base) slips and falls way too easily. Definitely not an improved pot stand design.

Comments about MSR MicroRocket Stove:
This was exactly what I was looking for in a stove; compact, durable, and stable. I use an Alpine 2 pot set which usually has me worried it will tip off smaller stoves, but not this one. Nothing about it is flimsy or delicate. I prefer a satellite ignition rather than integrated, just less to break, and if I lose the starter, a lighter works just fine. Long story short, it performed great in light to medium wind, so to me, this stove is perfect!

I just used the micro rocket on a 2 day camp/hike. It worked great and its so small. Packs easily and generates plenty of heat to cook with. Im very pleased with this product.

Comments about MSR MicroRocket Stove:
I have many stoves, but wanted something compact and easy to use. My favorite stove prior to this was the dual burner, backpacking stove from Peak but coleman discontinued the fuel cannisters.. This stove is tiny, easy to use, easy to light and powerful. So small I actually misplaced it and couldnt find it one day.. Perhaps they should have made the case bright yellow...

Comments about MSR MicroRocket Stove:
This little stove is very powerfull for its size. boils water great, very stable if you dont over kill on pot size. Perfect for the soloist or 2/3 party hiking. Dont weight nothing, fits nice in my pot set with 8oz fuel canister. I love it and (if) it ever breaks i will replace with another one.
Service and delivery comments:
All the items i order from REI come quick and in as good or better shape than from the stores. Fast shipping and excellent packaging so items dont get destroyed in the shipping process.

Comments about MSR MicroRocket Stove:
This is a great little stove that folds up nicely inside my GSI Pinnacle Soloist Pot set along with a snow peak 110 g cannister, spork, and other items.. It lighted easily, had a strong jet-like flame that heated about 1 liter of water in about 4 minutes. My hiking buddy brought along his MSR whisperlite stove and was blown away by the diminutive size and big performance of the Microrocket stove.

Comments about MSR MicroRocket Stove:
I have used MSR for years . There are some others that make great stoves too the competition these days for backpacking gear is steep. I chose this one because MSR stoves just do the job they were meant to do and they do it well. They don't get too fancy on details just great products that work. I have used it about 4 times so far in high and low elevation and it works flawlessly. It is super light, easy to set up and the heat is very adjustable. The only reason I left out a star was that the arms that support pots etc. barley hold my Snow Peak titanium 32 ounce pot that i use for everything. What I mean is the pot sits on the inside edges of the arms by like a few millimeters or so. They should of made them come in just a little more for smaller pots because most ultra-light pots of this nature are a small diameter and even though once it is on it feels secure but its just a tad sketchy but nothing to bad that i would take it back or anything I still LOVE this stove!

Comments about MSR MicroRocket Stove:
The MicroPocket stove folds down to a very compact size, although I find it a little difficult to fit in the case especially when you include the lighter. In addition I found the included lighter a little inadaquate to light the stove with a light breeze so find another lighting source.
Overall I'm very happy with the size, weight, heat output and quality. I would count on this stove to perform in the field.
