Rated4out of5bySarah BarrafromLove It.I love this bag. After a long deliberation process, and waiting for it to go on sale, I jumped at the chance when it arose and have been really pleased. The bag is a great size, I get compliments on its looks all the time, and it functions really well for my daily life as well as travel bag.
The only negative I would say is that the gray bag gets really dirty really quickly (and I was really careful with where I put it down, etc...) and didn't clean up well. It was bad enough for me to go back to REI and switch out colors. As expected, they were great about it, so I am still a happy customer. Great bag, great brand, great store.

Rated5out of5bymathgirlfromBest bag EVER!This is just the right size for everyday use. I take it everywhere (1) school - fits an 8.5x11 notebook and small texts (2) shopping - wallet, light fleece for freezing grocery stores in summer, water, keys, phone (3) swimming off the pontoon boat - goggles, cap, towel, water, snack all fit perfectly (4) errands on the bike - this bag fits easily into my pannier and is quick to grab and go.
It is so much more versatile than a typical women's handbag. The inside pockets make it easy to keep things organized. No more digging for the car keys! It is super lightweight so my bag isn't heavier than the few things I'm carrying. The adjustable straps allow me to stuff a jacket in there without affecting how the bag works. It still closes securely.
Some have complained that the shoulder strap doesn't have padding. In my opinion, the bag isn't big enough to carry enough load to be so heavy you'd need padding (unless you're carrying rocks!). The wide strap is sturdy and comfortable as is.
It's also really cute in the bright blue. The handle on top makes it easy to grab and the side water bottle holder saves interior space. Excellent product.

Rated5out of5byminishianfromFantastic bagWent to Costa Rica and needed a bag for purse/storage for day trips. Expandable to fill with jacket and/or towel yet goes right back down to purse size with the straps. Great to wear across the shoulders without the bulkiness of a backpack after it is unloaded.

Rated5out of5bywattaquadockfromJust RightI bought this bag just before a 5 week trip that included the Isle of Skye, London, Paris, Florence and hilltowns in Umbria, Italy. It is just large enough to carry a digital SLR camera, rain jacket and daily tourist items (sunglasses, souvenirs, guidebook) and still be an acceptable size for admittance into museums. Many museums will not allow backpacks to be carried in, regardless of size, so a shoulder bag is a plus. Comfortable enough to use on hikes to hilltowns in Umbria as an alternative to my backpack. Simple design with some internal pockets for organization, a zipped pocket on the flap, and a padded pocket large enough for an iPad. I chose black, as it works well in both mountain and urban settings.

Rated5out of5bymcandersonfromgreat size and compartmentsI like this size because you can easily fit a book and water bottle and several other items (in their own easy-access compartments) but it's not bulky. I like the reflective band on the front and the high quality snaps/zippers. Would definitely buy it again. Purchased in black.

Rated5out of5bykko299fromPerfect SizeTraveling to conferences, tradeshows, and conventions, I needed a bag to stow my 12.5" sleeved laptop (Lenovo x230) as a airplane carryon bag. Then during the conference and tradeshow, it was used to store handouts. However I didn't want to walk around with a ginormous (gigantic and enormous) bag all day.
I found this bag in the store and it was perfect! There are a good number of interior pockets and slots for pens, business cards, headphones, batteries, digital voice recorder, etc. The unpadded main compartment is nicely sized. The flap adds security and the exterior pockets are great for frequently used items like lipbalm, boarding passes, magazines, or maps. There is a lashing point and an exterior water bottle pocket.
The two minor annoyances: lack of a shoulder pad and the shoulder strap may need to be untwisted when picked up because it is sewn-in instead of clipped. I use a handy timbuk2 shoulder pad which is just fine. The twisting part doesn't bother me.
I spent a ton of time looking for bags, this one meet all my needs. Love it!

Rated5out of5byNW Hiker GalfromLove my MiniMass!I have been so happy with this bag since purchasing it. I was looking for a small messenger style bag I could use in lieu of a purse to hold purse type items as well as a mini ipad, plus accommodate miscellaneous items one picks up during the day. This bag has worked flawlessly. I appreciate the plastic clip style fasteners rather than noisy velcro, and the flap is well designed so that the main compartment is protected when it rains - very important in the Northwest! While the design is somewhat minimalist, the few compartments are perfectly organized. I also appreciate that the backside is slightly padded for when I am carrying a kindle or ipad. I would imagine this would also be perfect for travel, although since the interior does not zip below the flap, I would secure both buckles as slight pickpocket deterrence. This is not the bag to weigh down with the kitchen sink since it is a mini messenger, but it seems to hold just the right amount for the lightweight traveler or daily user. Highly recommend!
