Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +20 Sleeping Bag:
I bought this to take to Peru. I really loved the way it packed up and it was very warm. The color is really fun too. Overall seems like a high quality bag.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +20 Sleeping Bag:
Warm, roomy, and light enough to haul around for a couple days worth of hiking. I used this bag with a liner in around 30 degree weather and was overly warm. My wife has the same bag and is a cold sleeper and was toasty as well. This is an excellent buy for the money, cheapest in its class that I have found.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +20 Sleeping Bag:
I haven't used this as a sleeping bag except to try it out briefly. I'm 6'2" / 200 lbs. and the long size fits me with plenty of room to spare.
It's main use is as a topquilt in my bridge hammock. The 3/4 length zipper makes it ideal for use as a topquilt. The footbox remains intact to keep your feet warm and keeps the bag in place over you. The rest of the unzipped bag spreads out very wide and provides more than enough coverage for a hammock. I was concerned when I first used it because I could see voids in the down fill when the sun shown through it. However, that did not seem to affect it's ability to keep me warm. I've only used it to the low 30's, but stayed plenty warm. I see no reason why it wouldn't be bearable (that's what a rating is) to 20 degrees.
It's not the lightest bag around. Mine weighs 46.9 oz. with the stuff sack, but at the price they're going for I'm not going to complain. It comes with a pretty small stuff sack (11 Liters?) but I'm sure it would compress down to 2/3 that volume in a compression sack.
Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +20 Sleeping Bag:
I received this bag as a present. I turned off the heat in my apartment one night to try it out and I was comfortable the whole night even when it dropped into the high 30s. I look forward to taking this bag outside and trying lower temperatures.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +20 Sleeping Bag:
I chose this bag because we are doing 4 days in Big Bend this spring. Since we will be packing 3 gallons of water per person weight is essential. This bag is confortable, super light weight and packs small.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +20 Sleeping Bag:
My main purpose for this review is to warn you about the weight. I purchased the long which is listed on multiple sites including the brand's own site as "2 lb. 12 oz." This is inaccurate. The bag is exactly 4 lbs. This is the primary reason for the lower rating. It is very disappointing as a consumer when measurements, weights, temperature ratings and such are inaccurate. How can they be more than a pound off?? I used multiple scales and weighing methods and every time it was 4 pounds.
Now apart from that, the rest is good so far. I fit in it very well length wise and the width is pretty good though tight at the elbows. This is most likely due to me being a back sleeper as it is fine when on my side (I'm 202lbs by the way). Also, I like the draft collar, the multi-width strings for tightening the hood, and the zipper guard. The zipper guard seems to be the primary element leading to zipper snags but when kept out of the way all functions fine.
I got the bag on sale and will determine whether the price and comfort benefits outweigh the extra pound+ and deception.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +20 Sleeping Bag:
After suffering through my first year with my sons Boy Scouts troop, I bought this bag so I wouldn't be wrecked after not sleeping during campouts. This bag did the trick.
Very warm and comfy. I have tested it down to 30F sleeping on my deck with no shelter and stayed nicely warm wearing long underwear.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +20 Sleeping Bag:
Purchased this bag 9-27-12. I have only used this bag on one fishing trip for two nights. The temp was around 27 degrees the first night and about freezing the second. I was already wearing longjohns when I went to bed. My girlfriend and I are cold sleepers so we were worried about freezing since the temp ratings are sometimes kinda "iffy". Much to my pleasant surprise I only woke up once during the night due to nature calling. Neither one of us woke up due to being cold. Cant comment on long term durability or such but I am very happy with the temp rating and comfort. Probably going to buy a couple more for the kids. Im 5'9" and about 145 and plenty of room for me. Didnt have any issues with zippers or anything. Seems to have a coating that resists water pretty good. Held it under a faucet for several minutes while rubbing. Fairly light and small. Cant beat it for the price.

Comments about Kelty Cosmic Down +20 Sleeping Bag:
I bought this to save weight when backpacking, and save space when car camping. I like to photograph Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah. My seasons are Spring and Fall. I need something warm enough for those frosty nights, yet not so hot I can't use it when it gets warm. During my last trip, it got down in the 30s at the South Rim, and the 80s at Zion. I was perfectly warm in the cooler clime and actually slept on top of the bag, on the ground (usually use a cot in my temp)in warmer weather with just an army poncho liner on top.
The only characteristic I don't like is the two way zipper. I've never had a use for one and dislike it when I manage to unzip it too far in the middle of the night. I then spend 5-10 minutes trying to fix it. My recommendation to Kelty is ditch it for a one way zip.
For the price, you can't beat it...even if the color/design is rather "funky" looking!

Perfect for the three season's I want. Accurate temperature range. Have used down to freezing and was very comfortable without the need for longjohns or socks.
