Comments about MSR BlackLite Classic Cookset - '08 Closeout:
Since I was getting back into the car camping/hiking thing with my wife, I wanted to get a simple, and inexpensive, cook set that would do for two people. One that I wouldn't feel too bad about if it get a little dinged up with my re-entry into the world of camping.
And I have to say, I am very happy with the set. The two pots pretty much fill every need, and the fry pan is also very nice. The non-stick coating is also quite good.
It comes in a niffty bag, and all the post fit inside each other. It comes with two "pack towels" as liners, which help prevent the pots from scratching each other. The handle gets it's own pouch, and it can be stored inside the pots when they are nested together. There is also room for a small stove (I use the MSR windpro, and it fits fine!)
The only drawback I'd see is that the way the handle attaches to the pots (basically the handle is for all three, and it's like a pair of pliers; open it up, slip it onto the lip/edge of the pot, and the grasp it to close and grip), is it could cause a few scratches after some time.
Overall, a very good intro camp cooking set!

This is a really nice pot and at the current price you can't go wrong
The non stick coating is really nice when you don't have a sink around to wash your dishes. I would just pour a little water in and move my spoon around the pot to clean it. This works effectively for removing all particles in the pot. Also these come with two free pack towels you can use to wipe off any water or food remaining (unfortunately a squirrel stole one of mine in the middle of the night).
The other thing that is great about this pot is the ridges on the bottom. These really secure the pot on top of my MSR pocket rocket stove. Now I can stir and not worry about the pot falling over.
I compared this to a lot of the Ultralight cookware made of titanium, but feel more comfortable with aluminum because of the more even heat distribution so I won't scorch my food. If all you do is boil water, I would probably go with titanium. I like to cook a few tasty meals when camping that involve a little more preparation than just pouring water in a ziplock bag. I only carry one of the 2 pots on backpacking trips, but it's nice to have the other one when car camping.
My only grievance is the pot handle seems like after time it will scratch the pot a little on the top. I still give it 5 stars for the excellent performance and affordable price.
MSR has really impressed me with their products. I love my pocket rocket stove, my hubba hubba tent is great and now with these amazing pots I have to assume all MSR products are really top notch.

Ive had 3 different cook sets, this one is the best by faaar. Faster to boil water than my stainless sets. My stainless sets both got uneven and had bumps in the bottom, causing pancakes to slide all over. This has stayed perfectly flat. Its got am awesome heat dispenser on the bottom too. The lid is so much nicer than using frypan as a lid on other sets. Its like a mini cutting board too. Ive been using this my main kitchen ware in a cabin, and pack it up for day hikes. This is really an awesome cook set. Im about to buy another one. One for kitchen ware, one for backpacking. You will not be disappointed. GET IT

I've been waiting for years to buy a non-stick pot set. When I saw the reviews for this set and the price, I finally made my purchase.
I used this set to boil water for coffee and to cook spam, cheese n' eggs breakfast on a recent car camping trip. Everything turned out great and clean up was so easy. I love this set!

I have used this product a few times on camping & backpacking trips. It is honestly well worth the money. It is easy to clean, pack, and cooks great! The only downside is that the handle starts to chip the paint. Overall, this is a GREAT product!

Well worth the $$. Good size for 2 people.
Extra towel is a bonus. Heats well and like the bottom surface of the pots - more stable on a stove. Don't forget not to use a metal spoon on the non stick surface. Doesn't weigh too much. Lots of room inside for a small burner. Really good deal.

Overall with this product, what you pay for is what you get. The size of both pots are perfect for cooking for 2+ as well as storing your stove, spices, and soap in the pot. On my first day of usage the paint started peeling off when washed. I wish the lid had more of a lip for simple eating out of, instead you have to use a pot.
Conclusion:
If you go camping once in a while then go for it. If you plan on using it in the long term I would go for something else.

Used for two car camping trips. I like having three pots, they are just the right size to cook several items for a family of four. They are very compact and sturdy. Good value.
