I really liked the look of the watch. However, I'm questioning it's resistance to water. I was boating with the watch on my wrist and in the water for a period of time. I woke up this morning and the watch is dead and I noticed last night that the backlighting feature was not working. I'll be taking this watch back to REI. Very disappointing because I really like it.

    I bought the watch about 2 weeks ago and it is what I expected. Solid weight, sturdy strap, and easy to read. I use it on a daily basis as a get-around watch, not for fashion or formal events. The luminescence on the hands and dials is very adequate for dim light reading and the backlighting is effective for total darkness reading. Due to the size and height(how far it protrudes off the wrist), I will not wear it in situations where it could easily catch on a strap, rope, etc. The slightly off-center date window and bezel don't require any significant user adjustments. I have not placed the watch in a situation yet where the water resistance has been tested. I will update the review after a few more months of wear and tear.
