I am an intermediate snowboarder, and find it hard to find my fit for jackets, since I have fairly big hips. Men's jackets are too tight in the midsection/hips---and bulky shorter jackets make me look like a big balloon. This jacket has a very slim line, good length (longer than a jacket, shorter than a long parka), is true to size (I'm 178 lbs and 5'6" and the size 14 fits snugly, the 16 would probably fit more loosely - I usually wear 16 pants, 12-14 tops), and has so many features you'll be amazed. It has a pocket for your goggles, for your keys, for money, easy to pull zippers, has a hood, and is warm for active sports. I wore a wool sweater/turtleneck under it when it was cold (20-22 degrees), blustery, and snowing, and it kept me toasty warm. It is absolutely the best jacket I've ever worn, and I have discarded my puffy down ski jacket and shell jackets for this one. The blue is a BEAUTIFUL ultramarine blue. It also has a very nice wrist sleeve so snow doesn't go up your sleeves when (if!) you fall. It also has a very nice smooth surface on the inside to pull over your layers. I buy a lot of stuff from REI and I consider this my favorite purchase. It's the first review I've written, because I'm so enthusiastic about this coat. This is for all of you women who have a hard time finding a jacket that fits because you're curvy or not a stick-thin boarder/skiier.
