Comments about Overland Equipment Bayliss Shoulder Bag - Women's:
The tag on bag says it can be used like a fanny pack, but the straps are to long. I have 28" waist and I had to tie a knot in the strap to make it fit.

This bag is one of the best I've found. It hugs the body without being bulky and holds all that is needed. Love the convertible waist pack/shoulder bag concept. Great for traveling.

Comments about Overland Equipment Bayliss Shoulder Bag - Women's:
Perfect for everyday. Shoulder strap is long enough to wear cross-body which is what sold me. In it, I carry my sunglasses in the case, medium wallet, small notebook, pens, hand lotion, comb, lipstick, magnifying glass, iPhone, earphones, small flashlight, mini-Leatherman, small packable shopping bag, and a big bunch of keys... and occasionally a small camera. Everything in its place. I'm sure I'm leaving something out. Uber-organized is putting it mildly. I do envy those women who can carry stylish big heavy bags, but I hate digging in them.
I don't use the card pockets as I carry my vital IDs and cc's in my wallet as I can't risk losing them. This is one feature that could have been eliminated, replaced with a another flat or zippered compartment instead. Also I would have liked a two-way zipper on the large compartment too.
I have the metro black version with an attractive light blue-gray lining, a combination that caught my attention.

I bought 2 REI bags a dark one with less pockets and a lighter colored one with more compartments. I also have REI day packs. These are all perfect for daily use.

Comments about Overland Equipment Bayliss Shoulder Bag - Women's:
I'm a fairly causal gal who looks for practical use rather than name brands, etc. I find this bag to be very comfortable, adjustable, and meets my overall expectations. It has the capability to be worn as a hip bag, although I've never found myself using it as such. My only complaint is that while it has separate compartments, at times they tend to be too small for my carrying needs (bf wants me to hold his keys, etc). However, in general, it works nicely for a day-to-day shoulder bag. I would recommend if your looking for something on the smaller side that won't weigh you down or get in the way.

Comments about Overland Equipment Bayliss Shoulder Bag - Women's:
About five years ago I bought an Overland Equipment Donner bag, and I loved it except for one thing: the front pocket - most convenient for my wallet and other such important things - closed with velcro, and the velcro was no longer sticky. I almost wrote a suggestion letter to the manufacturer. So I went to REI wondering if they had anything better. I found that the Donner bag has been improved in exactly the ways needed, but I found the Bayliss bag and decided to try that instead. It solved this problem: the Donner bag is a little big, and I found myself putting just my wallet and phone in my pocket sometimes, then forgetting to put it back in the bag on my next outing. So the Bayliss bag now serves as my wallet and I can put it in my backpack if I need to carry more things, which I hardly ever do. Plus it keeps me from carrying unnecessary things. Also, it's very well-made.

Comments about Overland Equipment Bayliss Shoulder Bag - Women's:
I bought this for a two week motorcycle trip down the west coast. I needed something compact and practical. Towards the end of the trip I realized I could wear it while riding two up on the bike, which made it even more convenient to get to my sunglasses and camera. I was able to organize my credit cards, cash, comb, sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses and my point and shoot camera. Having three compartments is great for organizing. The magnetic closure in the front is very convenient, yet the items feel well secured. This bag is super comfortable and light. I have been searching for a dressier purse with the similar design because I love this so much. My only disappointment is that the strap is too long for me to wear it around my waist . I am 5'3" 125 lbs. size 4/6 with a small waist. Other than that, I love it!

Comments about Overland Equipment Bayliss Shoulder Bag - Women's:
I waited awhile before purchasing this bag because I thought it would be to small. I've had one for about a month now and I love it. I know exactly where everything is and can stay organized. I'm a smaller lady and the bag hugs nicely to my hip and isn't bulky or an annoyance. I figured I would stop using it after awhile because I would end up furstrated that I couldn't put more in it. Not once have I missed having more room and I've been able to down size all the junk I was carrying and didn't really need. I certainly think it was worth the money and I want to buy another for the summer.

Comments about Overland Equipment Bayliss Shoulder Bag - Women's:
I am guy who also didn't realize up front that this bag is designed for a woman: my girlfriend didn't realize it at first either, but when she saw the bazillion little pockets she realized what it was and told me. Still, we both liked how it looked appropriate on me and I got it.
I have used this everyday for 4 months now, worn around my waist in the "fanny pack" configuration. In the front flap pocket I keep my keys on the little snap lanyard do-bod, a 4Sevens Preon 1 AAA flashlight, a Leatherman Skeletool, and spare change. This flap is anchored by two magnets and does not come undone by accident. I have even taken spills on a little trail motorbike in excess of 20 mph, gotten up and found everything still secure in its place in this pocket. In the second double-zippered pocket I keep a pen, wallet, cell phone, and receipts. In the largest single-zippered pocket I keep a lighter, nail file, chapstick, and--when I want--my Canon S95. Fully loaded with the camera it can be a bit bulky on the hips, but it is still manageable. Since I didn't carry my wallet or cell phone with me on a daily basis, its size and weight felt perfect.
I recently worked on a ranch in the Mojave Desert for 2 months, again wearing it everyday. It stood up to the aforementioned motorbike crashes, and everyday use and abuse. Just about every guy there mentioned how handy it was as I could produce what was needed (postage stamps) in a moments notice.
