Comments about Alps Mountaineering Clearwater +20 Sleeping Bag - Special Buy:
Took this on a weekend camping trip. Temps got down in the 40s but I was nice and toasty. Unlike some other mummy bags, I had plenty of room without having lots of drafts.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Clearwater +20 Sleeping Bag - Special Buy:
Bought this bag last year for the winter camping I do in January. When I first got the bag I was suprised by the low weight and how compact this bag is. I took it out when I got home and immediately notice how quickly I warmed up the inside of the bag. I was concerened about the 20 degree rating for winter camping especially since the temps projected for this past weekend January 2010 camp trip was to be 10 degrees at night. Wow I was pleasantly suprised not only was I warm but I was hot. This bag will hold in your body heat with no problems. This bag has far out done itself in function and service, for being in the mountains of Blueridge Parkway. This bag did well. The stuff sack is alittle hard to deal with but if you take your time and stuff the bag in it will fit. I may purchase another compression bag later but for now the one it comes with works. I would recommend this sleeping bag to anyone and already have recommended it to my friends that were with me on this past camp trip. Bedsides for the price you can't go wrong. For those that have issues with the zipper if you just take your time the zipper wont snag. This is a great bag for winter camping. It will meet all your needs for winter camping. I checked this bag to be 3 and 4 season given the conditions that I used this bag in this past weekend. The temps as stated were down to 10 degrees with well over 14 inches of snow fall. This is why I state this could be a 3 or 4 season bag.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Clearwater +20 Sleeping Bag - Special Buy:
After using this bag on four different trips throughout WA, and central AK this summer, I feel it was a great buy. This bag performs well to at least 35 degrees. I recommend this for anyone who is looking for a relatively inexpensive but functional 3 season bag. The zipper can snag if you yank it up quickly...so just take an extra two seconds when you close the zipper and you shouldn't have this problem.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Clearwater +20 Sleeping Bag - Special Buy:
Took this bag on a backpacking trip through Iceland a few weeks ago. Very warm, if a bit heavy, but worth the added weight (especially for the $$). Our tent flooded one night (because nobody warns you about Iceland's flash-flooding nighttime rains); boyfriend woke up soaked through his sleeping bag but I was nice and dry.

I paid [$] dollars for this bag to replace an old colman I had beaten up for years. I could not be happier with its performance. It is a little heavy but lightweight='s more $$. It has kept me warm down to 30degress so far!

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Clearwater +20 Sleeping Bag - Special Buy:
I just picked this sleeping bag up yesterday and I wasn't as heavy as i thought it would be. I get hot relatively easy so this temperature rating was perfect for me. I'm about 5'6 and I had plenty of room for comfort and the stuff sack that it comes in packs the bag pretty small. The only thing I didn't like was the stuff sack. Unless you roll up the bag really tight, it's pretty difficult to stuff your sleeping bag into it. I'd probably suggest picking up a different stuff sack that's easier to use.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Clearwater +20 Sleeping Bag - Special Buy:
Just used it for camping in Yosemite Valley. Based on the price, the bag is reasonably small and lightweight. It also has plenty of room and provided much warmth (maybe a bit too much, but Yosemite Valley in late May is not that cold either). The included compression sack is useful but again I never had experience with this kind of sack before. I wonder if the bag can be compressed even further with a better sack. Anyway, hope to test it in colder weather soon.

Nice bag, nice price. Heavy duty zipper, although it often snags.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Clearwater +20 Sleeping Bag - Special Buy:
Bought this for my 3 year old son because it was a much better deal than a kid's bag and he can use it for a long time. This is an unbeatable deal for the price. It has good features of more expensive bags and stays warm. Packs smaller than my ultralight Marmot, though heavier. Zippers snag on every bag I've used, so no biggie.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Clearwater +20 Sleeping Bag - Special Buy:
Zipper broke 2nd night of use, now the zipper is stuck all the way towards the bottom and will not move up. Bag is also very heavy and not very compact, would not recommend backpacking.
