    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Rated2out of5byfromPoor DurabilityThe only reason that these tires get 2 starts is because they lasted me at least a year without getting destroyed. I recently moved to So. Cal, but did most riding on these tires along the American River Bike Trail between Sacramento and Folsom. A very nice, clean, well maintained area. I have had countless flats on these tires, enough that I have easily spent way more money replacing tubes than I saved not spending a little extra on nicer tires. My biggest issue is that each time the tires were punctured by something, it left and large gap in the rubber tread that would begin to separate from the tire. If i ran over a small weed or needle from a bush that didn't completely puncture the tire, they would get logged in the soft rubber. These tires are simply not durable enough, especially given that 80%+ of riding was on well maintained bike trails. Even when I would ride through the city where I lived at the time, there were clean bike lanes everywhere. There are sections where the tread has just worn off in chunks. I would never recommend these to anyone for any reason.

Rated2out of5byfromDoesn't pass the testWas thinking this tire would be the "Cat's Meow" with the reasonable price and ride-ability. But after less 500 miles and and less than 1 year of sporadic use they failed to make the grade. The sidewalls are already starting to crack (and I store my bike indoors)-so can't recommend them. Funny thing is the cracking is where all the painted lettering and logos are on the side. Maybe that paint affected the rubber underneath?

Rated2out of5byfromGood ride but very poor durabilityI have had three tires on the rear. Original Clement Strada made it 1268 miles. Seca was worn through after 567. Current Seca Survivor has 886 and still looks pretty good. Avoid the Seca and spend a bit more for the more durable and puncture resistant Seca Survivor.

Rated5out of5byfromNo complaintsIt's a good tire. I've got ~450 miles on it and it hasn't even begun to show any kind of wear. I've had a couple flats, but I expect that from any tire I get. Nothing is puncture proof.

Rated4out of5byfromWill buy another setI bought these as a replacement winter tire for my road bike for riding in Colorado. The debris along the side of the road from ice-snow melt and gravel laid down by city snow plows was guaranteeing a flat on virtually every ride on my soft slick road tires. I bought a set because of the price-point and reviews in 2008, and they've held up well until now. I intended them being a temporary purchase as I was looking at some Specialized Gator tires. I was so pleased with these, I will buy another set. I'm not so picky on aspects such as weight, cornering, grip etc. It's just a solid reliable tire. It's very firm and provides a firm ride, probably at the expense of some grip, but I'm not competing. Long lasting Dependability, quality, value and price-point were and are all the main factors for me.

Rated4out of5byfromGood Commuter tires, Good PriceBought these tires for my bike commuting college student son. Tucson, AZ presents special tire challenges. These tires stand up well. Not flashy or fast, but good, solid commuters at a good price.
