I have had three tires on the rear. Original Clement Strada made it 1268 miles. Seca was worn through after 567. Current Seca Survivor has 886 and still looks pretty good. Avoid the Seca and spend a bit more for the more durable and puncture resistant Seca Survivor.

        Comments about Serfas Seca Road Tire - 700 x 23 / 25 / 28:

It's a good tire. I've got ~450 miles on it and it hasn't even begun to show any kind of wear.

I've had a couple flats, but I expect that from any tire I get. Nothing is puncture proof.

        Comments about Serfas Seca Road Tire - 700 x 23 / 25 / 28:

I bought these as a replacement winter tire for my road bike for riding in Colorado. The debris along the side of the road from ice-snow melt and gravel laid down by city snow plows was guaranteeing a flat on virtually every ride on my soft slick road tires.

I bought a set because of the price-point and reviews in 2008, and they've held up well until now. I intended them being a temporary purchase as I was looking at some Specialized Gator tires. I was so pleased with these, I will buy another set.

I'm not so picky on aspects such as weight, cornering, grip etc. It's just a solid reliable tire. It's very firm and provides a firm ride, probably at the expense of some grip, but I'm not competing. Long lasting Dependability, quality, value and price-point were and are all the main factors for me.

Bought these tires for my bike commuting college student son. Tucson, AZ presents special tire challenges. These tires stand up well. Not flashy or fast, but good, solid commuters at a good price.

I bought a set of these tires in the 28 size to commute on. Being the first set of 700cc wheels/tires I've ever ridden on, they seem to have practically no rolling resistance (compared to my 26" and 29" mtn tires).

They also seem fairly flat resistant, as I ride through broken glass during my commute every day, and have yet to get a flat. I do see little slashes from the glass, but they never seem to penetrate very deep. Perhaps this is the "Flat Protection System" at work, who knows.

            Comments about Serfas Seca Road Tire - 700 x 23 / 25 / 28:

I got one of these a year ago and mounted it on my rear wheel.

The Good: I rode about 3,000 miles with it before I got my first flat.
The Bad: That's when I noticed significant wear all over the tire.
The Ugly: Two weeks later I got a hole in it and needed to replace it (ruined my ride that day).

I rode mostly on asphalt (some rough areas) and concrete, some sandy sections, and I pumped it at about 90-110 PSI. It felt smooth for me. I would've expected a bike tire to last longer than that, but for the price, I guess it wasn't too bad.

              Comments about Serfas Seca Road Tire - 700 x 23 / 25 / 28:

I've bought several sets of these tires. The first pair lasted about 6 months. I was training 20 miles a day on mediumly rough roads, and even would go over a mile long hardpack section (for logistical reasons) What I love about this tire is it is cheap so you wont feel bad about wearing through them, but they perform extremely well. I am now riding 30 miles every day and almost never get flats, when I do they are usually pinch flats. They almost instantly become a slick tire because the tread is very thin, which makes them even more grippy. My one complaint is that they dont perform that well in the wet, but they will definately still get you there, and you won't have to worry about all the debris that gets kicked up onto the road.

              Comments about Serfas Seca Road Tire - 700 x 23 / 25 / 28:

I put in about 360 miles a week commuting in Phoenix, Arizona in all weather and have had 2 or 3 sets of these. When fully inflated, I have had virtually no problems with flats, and they roll very well. (bear in mind, that I am neither a racer nor an expert on tires) My children have won races with their peers using my bike with them.

That being said, I have had one issue. After about six months [2,000 miles] or maybe less, the gummy surface which holds the road comes loose. (It may have something to do with riding when temperatures are in the 110-120 degree range or sudden stops when cut off by inattentive motorists.) Every one I have replaced has been because of this.

Traction is mediocre compared with lower pressure, wider tires. This is especially true on less than perfect surfaces (flowing water and dirty pavement are among the worst), so don't expect to stop quickly when cut off by a car, but that is the trade off for an easy quick ride.

              Comments about Serfas Seca Road Tire - 700 x 23 / 25 / 28:

I've been riding these tires 700x23 rear 700x25 front for almost a year now. So far I've been averaging 6 months on my rear and 1 year on the front. I average around 10-20 miles daily on a fixed gear. These tires have decent durability but no where near a Soma Everwear. When you pump these suckers up to 100+ psi the rolling resistance is very minimal.HOWEVER this does contribute to the poor cornering and poor traction in rain. When I first started riding these I had to make "emergency" corrections to make sure I didn't end up sliding out. Something I never experienced with higher end tires like Conti Gatorskins. Overall for a [$]] tire this is my go to tire. I have only had punctures caused by rider negligence. (riding over glass.... duh its gunna pop) For the money this is the tire to buy.
