REI Members get back an estimated $ 6.00 on this item as part of their annual member refund.

The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

by fromEverything you need I bought one of these for each of my cars "in case of emergency." It's a high-quality kit with everything you need short of a severe trauma situation. The first-aid field guide that comes with it makes it quick and easy to look up various traumas and how to treat them. This kit is a little heavy to take in a backpack or daypack, but great for basecamp or the car. Also, the Adventure Medical Pocket Survival Pack fits nicely inside to round off the kit.

by fromClose to perfection I needed a first aid kit for a week long trip I was about to take with several family friends and parents to Big Bend National Park, I have been countless times growing up. This trip would be my 6 year old daughter's first trip so I wanted to ensure I had THE first aid kit. After researching several versions, I decided this would be the one. I came to this decision after reading the reviews made by EMTs or others who have real experience in first aid. They all basically said the same thing... great kit, but I added...and that was the point. There isn't one perfect first aid kit that has everything unless you want something grossly overweight and take up way too much room in your pack. There are two items that are really lacking from this first aid kit 1. blood clotting agent & 2. aspirin. That's what I added to it after buying it. I also don't like that the bag is not water proof. One reviewer stated that their pack got wet and the kit got soaked which ruined all the band aids, bandages, guaze, etc. I bought a water proof sack and I keep it in there at all times now, problem solved. I carried this kit during my short hike to The Window and on my long overnight hike to the South Rim. I didn't need it, but knew that if I did it was in arm's reach. Good purchase. Going to purchase another one for my wife's car.
