by fromnot a good idea this sandal combinds the worst features of a shoe and a sandal. They are just as hot as a shoe, yet beause they are open debris gets inside of the sandal and because they are not open enought, the debris just rounds a round inside the sandal till you clean them out. Sand is the worst to clean out and these are suppost to be water(beach)sandal!

by fromVery disapponted I bought these shoes (still can't believe I paid that much) because they looked comfortable and cool (as in not hot). They are very hot and after wearing only one time stink to high heaven. Who wants to buy a pair of shoes you have to put in the freezer to kill bacteria?

by fromSHOE GOO any one? I do love my KEEN NEWPORT H2 sandals, it's a bloody shame the sole of the left one started falling apart after 30 days of use (kayaking and pyramid climbing in the Yucatan).Style wise they are awesome, very comfortable, amphibious, and toe protective. Unfortunately it looks like the glue they use to secure the insole to the sole of the sandal has issues and fails. I would guess a production defect, not necessarily a design flaw. The downsides are they they may fall apart, and for an amphibious sandal they seem to absorb water and take hours to dry (wish they used a different webbing!).Unfortunately REI cannot replace my pair because they are no longer available (black colour). They did offer a refund, but that means I'm out my sandals [...] I'm off to get some SHOEGOO for an attempted repair.

by fromFunny Smell Anti-Odor foot bed has [to me] a strong and unpleasant chemical odor. Apparently this is a change as my first 2 pair did not have this 'feature'. The smell would not go away and became so bad that I could smell it whenever I opened my closet or whenever I wore them. Finally, I had to get rid of them...& found I liked the Merrill's better.

by fromPoor Quality I needed a new general sandal and wanted something that would be durable and quick drying. I stopped buying Birkenstocks due to poor quality. I was planning on using theses in the BWCA. I usually wear a 12. My foot measures 11 1/2. I had to purchase a 13. It started to tear, at the heal, after two days. I did not even put them to a full test. Another owner stated that he had problems with the seams. He had pictures showing the same type of tear, but on a different location of the shoe. I am hoping that I am wrong, since I had hopes that this sandal might work. I might give the sandal one more chance. There were a few good reviews out there. At this time I would not recommend. Three strikes and KEEN is out!

by fromDon't buy - not worth it I purchased these for a trip to India, wanting protection for my feet. They did protect my feet, and were very comfortable. The soles started to wear after only a months use, but that was not my concern. My concern was the HORRID STENCH that arose from these sandals. After only one week of wearing them, I had to place them in a plastic bag upon returning to my hostel at night or else my entire room would stink. I had to wash my feet every night, and scrub the sandals with soap a cloth every other night to keep the smell down. After my trip I threw them straight in the trash - what a waste of [$].I am sure there are other sandals that provide comfort but not a foul odor. These would work if a person is in the water on a daily basis, but other than that don't buy.

by fromA product looking for a use I hike, paddle & bike. I have hiking shoes, I have flip flops, I have bike shoes (as well as good bike sandals mail ordered for $40 Wearing these, you feel like your feet have been inflated with lead. If you thought you were elegant, a walk in these will disabuse you of any further such musings. You can't wear these in a kayak unless you have small feet or a sit on top plastic boat. As for hiking, rocks and twigs would find their way in. For my Ben Franklin, I've got my $4 flip flops for stream crossings and keep the other $96 warm in my pocket for great food/drink. I returned mine before the dog could get them.

by fromAll Show & No Go! I bought these to wet wade while fly fishing. They offer good toe protection from boulders and rocks but that is about it. I returned my 1st pair after only one week long trip of use. The stitching on the sides of heel strap started to come apart. I returned them and now after hardly any use, the same is happening again and the sole on the heel is peeling off. Feet tend to shift and slide around inside when wet, since they have a smooth inside sole. They need to improve this since they were designed for water use. They tend to make the feet sweat so they are on the hot side, and eventually they get funky. I am returning my second pair since they are not very durable. All show and no go...
