    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

by fromYou get what you pay for I purchased several of these batteries last year in order to power a water pump, a radio, a tent heater and a flashlight that I take with me on camping trips. I was in need of rechargeable batteries to power these pieces of equipment so that I could avoid wasting money on one time use only alkaline batteries. Along with the batteries I also purchased the Energizer universal NiHM charger. After just a few uses I was extremely disappointed with the overall performance with these batteries as well as the charger itself. For starters, the batteries took a ridiculous 16 hours to charge completely. Once charged, these batteries powered my various pieces of equipment for only a fraction of the time when compared to the alkaline batteries I was previously using. My Sony CD player has a rated run time of 4 hours on cd play-back mode, however it lasted approximately 1.5 hours off of a set of fully charged Energizer NiHM 2,500 mAH D batteries. I later realized that I had blindly purchased D batteries that were greatly underpowered when compared to other rechargeable NiHM D batteries that are on the market today. In comparison, many of the AA rechargeable NiHM batteries on the market today are equal in power, if not more powerful than these much larger D cells. I also found out that these Energizer batteries are not actually D batteries at all, but are in fact C batteries wrapped with a D shell to make them larger. This explains why these batteries are so light weight and underpowered. For only a few dollars more per battery I was able to purchase 10,000 mAH D cells which last much longer in my portable electronics. Otherwise you will find your electronics dying often and recharging these batteries frequently. I highly recommend avoiding these batteries and investing a few dollars more in a higher quality charger and better batteries with a higher mAH rating. You will be glad that you did.

by fromDoesn't hold a charge Bought these to power our baby swing so we didn't have to keep replacing batteries. Only got 1.5 days out of it before the batteries were empty. I was very surprised, and then see that many other people have the same experience.

by fromSimply a small cell in a type D-shaped shell The battery provides merely 2500mAh capacity, identical to mainstream recharge AA batteries. The battery can be easily opened because the shell of the battery is simply a plastic case. Inside the case there is a MUCH SMALLER battery cell. So you are paying 3 times the price of a AA recharge battery for something giving the same performance. Just don't buy it.

by fromNot For a Baby Swing! My baby loves his swing and we use it often. I was having to buy batteries every 2 weeks, so I thought the rechargeable batteries would be more convenient and possibly save us money. Wrong. They last for one day of use. So frustrating to have to charge them every day and make sure to have a spare set to swap out while they charge for 14 hours. I can't believe I wasted so much money on them. =c(

by fromNot what I expected Bought 6 D batteries to use in our daughters baby swing so we would have 2 sets. Very disappointing barely operates swing when they are fully charged throw in rayovac alkaline batteries and the swing runs like a champ. Checked the voltage on fully charged batteries and they only measure 1.355v compared to 1.61v for the rayovacs. Then I notived the small print on the battery that said 1.2v since when is a D battery anything but 1.5v.

by fromDo not purchase for a baby swing I bought four D rechargeables and a charger in hopes that they would cut down on me having to buy batteries for my daughter's swing. However, I was very wrong. The batteries barely work for 4-5 hours in the swing, regardless of if I had charged them for an entire 24-hour period. I am very disappointed about the performance of the batteries based on the amount of money I had spent on them, especially since I still have to buy regular batteries to power the swing most of the time.

by fromThis product did not meet my expectations. I used alkaline "D" batteries in a Primos Game Camera and got 2 weeks tops so decided to get rechargeable. These Energizer D2 lasted 3 days. When fully charged they show 70% on startup. Not what I expected.
