• When do gift cards arrive?

• Can I add my gift cards to my member account?

  Add and store all of your REI gift cards to your member account. Login to your member account on any device to access your saved gift cards to use for purchases, anytime.

• Someone has asked me to pay them with a gift card. Is this a scam?

  BEWARE OF SCAMS. Never use a gift card to pay a debt, legal fees, bills, or taxes. Never give gift card information to someone you don't know. Contact local authorities to report scam or report it to:

  • The Federal Trade Commission at http://reportfraud.ftc.gov/;
  • The Federal Bureau of Investigation's Internet Crime Complaint Center at https://www.ic3.gov/;

  Attention Maryland shoppers:

  If anyone demands you pay them using a gift card, say no. And report the incident to the MD Consumer Protection Division at 410-528-8662 or 1-888-743-0023 toll-free.

  Attention New Jersey shoppers:

  If you suspect you have been the victim of a gift card scam or suspect gift card fraud, report it to:

  • The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs at 973-504-6200 or https://www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/Pages/Consumer-Complaints.aspx;
  • Your local police department who can issue a police report that may help you work with the card issuer to obtain a refund.

• Can I buy a membership as a gift for someone?

  At the moment, it is not possible to gift a membership, but you can offer them a gift card that they can use to buy a membership of their own! 

  Simply load a gift card with a minimum of $30, and your gift-getter can buy a lifetime membership to the largest outdoor cooperative. We even have a card design specifically for new memberships (check out the "This isn't a membership, but it could be" design above).
