Practical Stylish Hat
Love the color and fit, and great sun protection! I feel like I am a little bit stylish while outdoors wearing this hat.
Close but no cigar
It's a nice idea, but reality falls short of the concept. The flaps don't stay where you put them, neither up nor down, and will blow in the wind. The rear brim is so wide as to make it impossible to wear the hat with any kind of backpack. Next time, make the flaps larger, add a way to hold them in place, and reduce the rear brim so that it doesn't hang into a backpack.
great hat but bad in high wind
I loved this hat when I first got it for its wide brim sun-blocking and breathability. However, I was on a rock with high winds (30 mph+) and the brims in front and back just kept blowing up. They wouldn’t stay down, and the result was sun exposure on my face and neck the whole time we were in the wind for about an hour. So keep in mind that if you’re in high wind (ocean or mountain hiking above tree line), this might not be the best hat for you.
The compass hat is such a nice hat!! I bought 2 one for me size medium and one for my husband size large, fit is perfect, can be adjusted, great cover, comfortable, and will pack well. We're going to Costa Rica and that's why I bought them, but they are so great, we'll be wearing them to mow, garden, hike, everything outdoors. Not sure why the two other reviewers only checked off one star?? They gave the hat a great review, but didn't check off the stars correctly. Don't hesitate on this hat, Very nice quality!
My second Compass Hat
I’ve just received my second Compass hat in this olive green/khaki color, even though my first still has a lot of life left in it. The color goes with everything so I wear it often. I’ve worn it so often to garden that I decided to buy another to wear when I’m not gardening and working up a sweat. I usually wear the chin band to the back of my neck, though it’s great to have it when the wind blows. Great protection from rain or the sun. Has a barely noticeable, but useful flap you can lift up to reveal a screen-type fabric underneath for more ventilation. I love Sunday afternoons hats for their clear quality and thoughtful engineering. The brim can’t be beat when the sun is in your eyes. (I noticed on my yearly visit to my dermatologist that she has Sunday Afternoons hats on display in her office.)
Big brim
A great hat but due to wide brim really needs the under chin tie to keep it on in wind. Like the contasting brim colors
Good year round for sun protection.
Have had Sunday Afternoon hats I wear year round for sun protection for several years. Easy to keep clean.
I bought this hat for a month-long trip to Indonesia. It is very well made and held up very well. It kept the sun off my face and back of the neck, and it is very comfortable to wear and very light in weight, which is a nice feature in the intense heat of the tropics. It packs flat in my suitcase, so it was very easy to travel with. I put it in the washer after my trip, on delicate cycle, and it cleaned up well. Very happy with this purchase, well worth the price.
I stumbled across this hat a little over three years ago looking for a good fishing/kayaking hat at a local outdoor shop. The flip up vents looked interesting so I bought one. There are few items I've purchased in my life where I truly felt the product provided more than I expected. I love this hat! I keep it in my truck for anytime I may need one and I've worn it countless hours. It has always kept me cool no matter how hot it got here in FL. Thank you!
Best sun hat I have ever tried in ages. Not over priced for its features materials and fit. love the cream color and grayish bottom color for glare. The only other type hat that worked good for me was a straw hat that didn't hold up to the test of time. I love the brim style they use here. Looks great and functions very good. UPF 50+ rating is excellent. You will like this hats features fit materials and finish.
