Bought this thinking it would be perfect for early spring/summer camping, with the top entry being great for hammock camping. After the first night, the seam at the head started ripping. By the end of the 4 day camp/paddle trip, I'd ripped two of the toggles completely off the quilt top and the down was coming out. All I did was roll over while sleeping. Great idea for a bag....quality sucks. Can't recommend this bag at all. Spend the money and opt for a more quality bag such as the REI brand, Marmot, or Nemo.
Zipperless Bag just wasn't a good idea. Bag is warm, but opens up too easily. I should have believed the reviews online.
I've used this bag now for 3 years for bike packing, and so far it has held up without ripping. It's a lightweight bag intended for summer nights, since the bag is rated 45 degrees, this is a false rating that ALL sleeping bag makers use, you have to add 15 degrees to any sleeping bag to get closer to the actual lowest temperature you would be comfortable at (quilts are NOT like this though). I carry a blanket that can roll up real small and weighs next to nothing that I use just in case the weather gets below 60 or 55. The zipperless thing is a bit odd, not sure what the reasoning was behind this sort of engineering, not so sure if I like it, so I downrated it 1 star because of that odd design. There are not that many fasteners either so cooler air can enter between the fasteners, but like I said, it's a summer bag, and summer only. I do like that the top of the bag is down, and the rest is synthetic fill, the down top lays very light on my body which I prefer. I'm on a limb if I would recommend this to a friend, I said no in my comments only because I think most people would probably want a bag that closes with a zipper. But I am 72 inches long, with a narrow body width, and the bag does fit me quite comfortably without being even remotely tight anywhere, so I like that about the bag.
Worst sleeping bag ever, lots of gaps, definitely not rated for 40 degrees, ditched it in the middle of the night when it was 50 degrees out for a regular blanket.
The sleeping bag is disappointing. The down upper was smashed tight and the down did not fluff. This is a typical polyester fill sleeping bag that the top was cut out for the thin sheet that claims to be 600 fill down. Maybe 60 fill... It's of quality for what I payed for.... but its no bargain. It's actually bulkier than my 30 degree bag. Id recommend checking it out at the store and not mail ordering. It's just not great or quite what you expect from the description.
No zipper ended up being way worse than anticipated. Also rips at every seam spraying down all over your tent.
I bought this specifically because it is very light, and it works well for me. I tend to sleep very hot, so it is nice to be able to open it up and let a little air in without dealing with the whole zipper. I'm not sure that I have ever slept with it all buttoned up. But I do like being able to cover up to deter bugs and such. If you are going to be camping where it gets at all cold, this is not the bag for you. But if you are looking for something for warm summer nights, or maybe camping in an RV or car, this bag is great. It stuffs down to a very compact size, and the sack has straps you can cinch up to make it even smaller. I've used it about a dozen times, and so far no problem with the construction or durability. One star off because I wish it were just a bit wider so the top "sheet" can tuck in a little more.
Seems exactly as ordered. Lightweight and comfortable. Probably good to be wearing long underwear and a long sleeve top, but I'll have those in any case.
My girlfriend and i used these bags for our hike of the Maryland section of the AT. Super light bags which helped with our pack load. They were great for late summer sleeping. Good buy for the price.
It has a rating for 40F but is zipperless. For $65 it is very substandard quality.
