Not the most durable
This is the 2nd set I have and also have the permanent mount in my other car. They work very well just disappointed with the vent mounts. The clip holding them on broke after 6 months. I think it's a great idea but not the strongest unless this is a fluke. But hard to spend more money.
Expensive for the lifespan
I purchased my set to use in my car for my smart phone. The strong magnet and simple installation made it easy to get started. After about six months of use the rubber gasket inside the desk that attaches to the phone became smooth and the phone will not stay upright on The wall mount. Sometimes gravity pulls it to the left or the right but it always pulls it down so that the phone no longer stays in the position I choose for it to stay. I had written the review three months ago I would have given it five stars. Six months in it still has a strong magnet but the rubber gasket seems to need to be replaced. Now it’s just more of a hassle to use
AMAZING STABILITY!!!!!
As a Package Delivery driver, I purchased this product maybe 2 years ago. Using it to hold my phone in place for navigation purposes. After driving on all kinds of rough roads, gravel roads, pot hole filled roads, never one time has my phone fell off of the magnet. It has made my job much easier, not having to fiddle with the phone at all. The clip on the vent in incredibly strong, as well as the magnet. I simply type in the address, get my phone even close to the magnet, it clicks into place and away I go. I’m not big on product reviews, this being my 1st one. But I have to give credit where it is due. This is a wonderful product!
Steelie Dash Mount Kit
I have the steelie ball mounted to my dash, just under my A/C vent and left of my radio. Its very convenient to slap my smartphone on my dash and go. If i need the GPS, its right there (no stupid suction cup to block my view) and can easily plug it into power or my radio. Its a super strong magnet, yet hasnt affected my phone at all. it swivels easily, so i can easily see my phone without glare. The magnet attached easily to my phone case (low profile, wont snag pockets). Will probably put another steel ball in my wife's car for when we travel. Its all very secure. Not sure how the vent mount would work, but Im VERY happy with the dash mount. I HIGHLY recommend.
Vent Mount & iPhone 8 Plus
I bought this when I had a iPhone 6s and it worked great!! After my kids drown my 6s, a week later, I replaced it with an iPhone 8 plus with an otterbox defender case. due to the size and weight of the new phone it did not work well with the vent mount. It prevented the user from being able to move the vent up or down to direct the air flow. Due to the weight it would always move the vent down. I am going to try the dash mount, windshield mount and possibly the pedestal to see that will work better for the 8 Plus. I will post results so stay tuned. 07/13/2018
Orbiter Kit
The Orbiter Kit is fantastic! A thin metal disk mounts to the back of your phone (or case) — it adds almost nothing to the thickness of the phone. The Orbiter disk magnetically “sticks” to the “ball” of either your vent kit or dash kit. You put your phone near the Orbiter disk and it’s mounted and ready to go — it’s just that easy. The Orbiter allows your phone to swivel in any direction so you get a good viewing angle on the screen. A gentle tug unstick your phone. The Steelie magnets will NOT erase your phone’s data or settings.
The simplicity of this product, relative to it's functionali
The simplicity of this product, relative to it's functionality and usefulness, is simply staggering. It's low profile isn't intrusive in the car, and the same can be said for the actual "steelie" that goes on the phone. I've tried a handful of car mount systems, and the rest are just underdeveloped versions of the steelie. Bonus feature: you can stick your phone to anything magnetic to hang out for a while. It's not curing any worldwide plagues or anything, but it's a nice added perk to having the Steelie.

I've used the Steelie Dash System for 2 years, in many cars and on three phones. Not only does it just work, I don't see any degradation in navigation because of the magnetic mount on the phone.I've attached the mag mount directly to a phone as well as to a case. If you place the mount directly in the center of the phone the phone will not move when on the steelie in the car. And as an added benefit, you can spin your phone on the mag mount on any flat smooth surface.

The windshield Mount doesn’t come with a magnetic socket, thereby the product is useless without it. Luckily I had the vent clip before (which came as a pair-clip plus socket). I couldn’t find a parts list anywhere on the box or website. The magnetic socket is a bit weak-always have to be adjusting your phone. There are way better products out there. I can’t believe that the company is so cheap that they can’t include a socket magnet with every order-pathetic.
Adhesive won’t stick
I purchased this product for my husband to use with his Steelie ball. We followed the instructions for application of the adhesive and let it sit over night. The magnet was gone even before he got into his truck the next morning. I then purchased a second magnet in hopes that it was just a fluke, but it wasn’t. The adhesive fell off the first pot hole he hit out of the driveway. I had very high hopes for this product but we were very disappointed.
