The one
I just finished shredding to pieces several boxes from ikea and this knife was with me all the way through the project. The edge is still sharp, the knife looks good plus I like the solid quality that this knife has, I knew it was a good decision to purchase the minute I held it in my hand.
Very nice Outdoorsy inspired knife
This is a nice sharp knife. I have other Benchmade knives and found this knife to be good in the hand, the wood grips and blackstrap jimping makes for a good feel in the hand. The jimping on the blade afford for a positive main grip and a finger forward grip for fine tip work. The stonewashed blade looks good with its non-glare finish. The pocket clip is tight and can be used on two different positions. The AXIS lock is one of the nicest and convenient locking methods for opening and closing the blade of this knife. All in all, a very nice knife if you want something that is a little nicer and outdoorsy with it’s wood scales. I am happy with my purchase.
Fantastic knife...just bought a second one.
I first purchased this knife in May and I’ve carried it every day since. I previously had a Benchmade knife (purchased in 1997?) and knew they were well made. The Dymonwood is beautiful and extremely durable. It’s put up with moderate carry abuse without a scratch. The blade was extremely sharp out of the box and holds an edge very well. I love the ambidextrous nature of the axis lock. The all steel frame is nice too. I do like that the clip is dark and not bare metal as it is more discrete. This knife is perfect for everyday and fits nicely in the 5th pocket of my jeans. I like it so much that I just bought a second one.
Great for business look.
This is my choice of knives when I’m wearing slacks or going somewhere where uppity people linger. It’s a beautiful piece and doesn’t draw people’s attention. Important note: If you want something you can throw/drop without damage, this isn’t it. Any wooden tool needs to be taken care of, same as wooden vs granite countertops. I’ve taken care of it for over two years and it looks brand new.
Great for both EDC and survival
I can't say enough great things about this knife. I have owned other benchmade models, most recently the 530S serrated locking knife. I consider this model a huge upgrade. Holds the edge well thanks to the vanadium carbide in the metal, which is a very hard material. Relatively light weight, good length (pretty standard) and I love the straight edge. The wood of the handle was a little darker than what was pictured, which I though was a great surprise. Mostly an every day carry for me, I have not had the opportunity to take it hunting yet. Awesome knife so far.
Its a beaut
This knife is excellent. High quality. Feels great in the hand. Perfect size for edc, but highly functional for the outdoors. The clip is strong and reliable, and feels like there is nothing in my pocket. The Axis lock is also dependable and really well designed. The jibbing gives the right amount of grip. Super sharp and holds its edge well. The dymondwood handle gives it a classic look with fantastic durability. Cant say enough good things about this knife.
Great knife excellent lock
I have been a bit obsessed with knives since I was a boy and now have quite a few. Benchmade make a very strong, reliable locking mechanism that has never faltered. I really love this series, with the wood / resin handle. I've had it in rain and wet conditions with no flaws. All metals rust so I do dry it off asap. The thumb stud on this is really useful and opens the knife well. One of my other Benchmade knives has the same steel which takes a long time to dull, even after cutting roofing and serious other tasks. Then I have sent it back to Benchmade for a free sharpening. It is just one of those products that has quality in every part. I've only had this one for a month but can't stop thinking about it. Expensive but a great purchase for me. I use it at work as a contractor and at home for cutting vegetables and everything in between.
Excellent Knife from Benchmade
I have several Benchmade knives and like them all for intended uses. This one is no exception. Some of you may seen some Benchmade QA issues over the past few years (writing this in 2019) but the North Fork I own is flawless. The fit & finish, blade centering, blade grind, and axis lock are perfect - smooth as butter. I personally like the way jimping was done. My only dislike is sharpening the recurve blade but knew that when purchasing. You can always send to Benchmade for outstanding sharpening & tune-up. One bit of advice: look at Benchmade knives in person to ensure the QC has verified a perfectly constructed knife. Good thing with REI - any issues can be easily resolved with them.
It’s a EDC keeper
Love this knife as my EDC. I’ve carried a Benchmade Mini Barrage for years which may be slightly more practical due to its auto opening and straight blade shape. But this is very smooth open/close and the wood looks beautiful.
Attractive edc
Everything is coming up Benchmade this year. Saw it, had to have it. Smaller than I imagined but not a problem. Feels great & luxurious. Great job.
