The only flip-flops I'll ever buy
My first pair of Chaco flip-flops lasted me 10 years. I've lived in South Florida for seven years, and so I've worn them possibly every day in the last seven years. I finally broke down and bought a second pair when the first one finally had enough issues that I felt a new pair was worth it. I can still wear that first pair though; they are still so comfortable and supportive. I have a high arch and these things are so comfortable I've been hiking in Colorado in them. Unfortunately, the second pair didn't last a year, thanks to my dog. Here's hoping the third pair are as lucky as the first. I'm sure they will be just as comfortable as the first two pairs.
Just as comfy as Z1s
I could never wear flip flops because of a) the lack of arch support and b) the toe strap always hurt. The Chaco Flips solve both problems for me and I can wear them all day long. Oddly, although the footbed and arch support feel the same as my Z1s, I had to go up a size in the Flips - which meant going back to my regular shoe size. I'm a 9 normally, 8 in other Chacos, and a 9 in these. When I ordered an 8, the shoe was just a little too short and the strap was too tight, but the 9s were perfect. These are great for anyone who wants an easier on/off version of the traditional Chaco sandal.
Such Comfort!
These flip flops caught my eye a few months ago but I didn't buy them and it has haunted me since. The next time I visited REI, they were on clearance!! and I couldn't be happier. It took a little getting used to having support in my flip flop but after only wearing it for a day, I think they are worth every penny. True to size (I'm a 8.5, I bought a 9). I have narrow feet and these fit perfect.
Chaco's have changed
I had another pair of Chaco flip flops that I've been wearing for two years and they are still holding up great. I wanted one more pair but when I got these they were not the same and straps very loose. I think I would fall out of them. I read that Chaco got bought out by Merrell so products have changed. Unfortunately I will be returning them.
defective straps or change the fit?
I own 3 pairs of Chaco flip flops and love them. I wanted to get more since they were on sale so I ordered 2 different colors. I was so excited but they do not fit the same as my old slippers. The straps on these are so loose that my feet doesn't stay on when I walk. They can't both be defective or they changed the fit. Why did they change it????
These flips need adjusting!
Got these a month ago, only wore around the house to try them out.... and they're going back. I love the brand, the footbed was wonderful with good support (I cannot wear flat flipflops), but the straps let the sandal scoot all over the place. They made the fit so "sloppy" I was concerned about wearing them on stairs or moving at a speed faster than a walk. I'll stick with the adjustable Chacos from now on.
The best flip flops
I could live in these. I wear them indoors when its too cold out to wear them outside. They are therapeutic to my feet! I regularly wear a size 10 in athletic shoes and wear a 9 in Chaco's. They fit my feet like a glove with great arch support.
The only flip flops to own!
Love the arch support and they are so very comfortable that I can wear them all day long.
Quality lower than the old Chaco Flips
Finally decided that my old Chaco Flips are too worn out to keep wearing. The new ones are OK, but they are more like halfway between the old Chacos and the Teva Mush, which are much cheaper flip-flops. The fabric straps are less sturdy than the old Chacos, they don't have the grippy Vibram soles the old ones have, and the soles are thinner and more flexible. Not too bad for the half price I paid, but they are no longer worth anything like the full price. Disappointed in Chaco, but I'm keeping them.
Good casual sandal, straps a little too loose
Love the sole on Chacos, very supportive. The straps may be a little too loose thinking that a size 11 meant the person has a big volume foot. Short walks ok, not for putting miles in along the beach boardwalk or an easy trail. Wish you could tighten them like the Z line.
