The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

by fromNot waterproof After 6 months of use (over April-October), this rain jacket is not waterproof anymore. I also bought and treated the jacket with Nikwax Hard-shell Outerwear Care Kit, which also did not work. I am really sad about spendind my money on this rain jacket.

by fromDoes The Job I bought this a month ago to wear on a kayaking trip. I was looking for something that could easily compress into a stuff sack for packing efficiency and this did the job. It was great on those cool mornings with a vest underneath.

by fromGreat so far I've worn it out in super damp, drizzly conditions and it's been great. The inside stayed dry and the hood is big enough to keep drizzle from your eyes. The jacket is super light weight and packs very small. I haven't used it in heavy rain yet, but I don't foresee any problems.

by fromLove this jacket My boyfriend has had the precip for 2 years and I was jealous of little features like the velcro hood adjuster (I have a tiny head so hoods usually cover my eyes), the lightweight, not crinkly fabric, and the clean style. Luckily my old raincoat ripped and now we both head out into the rain in comfortable style! I'm petite and the sleeves are a little long (story of my life) but once I adjusted the velcro on the wrists, they stay in place and do not feel baggy or like I want to roll them up like some other rain jackets I've owned.

by fromNot A Rain Jacket This is my second Precip jacket and the first one was bomb proof! That one was from a few years ago. This version of the Precip I got last year and it is NOT a rain jacket, more like a drizzle jacket. I love it because it is breathable and lightweight but I also need to be dry when it is raining and after about 5 minutes in a downpour I'm getting wet inside. To bad :-(

by fromFailure in Iceland I bought this jacket several years ago for a trip to Alaska. Fortunately, it did not rain and was thus not tested. I've used it as a wind breaker, but never really needed an actual rain jacket for several hours at a time... until I went backpacking in Iceland last week. It rained every day - some days just a steady drizzle and some days a constant downpour, but this jacket did not perform at all. Even when it started out dry, the water never really beaded up on it. As soon as the jacket got wet, the water was absorbed, leaving me soaked quite quickly. (Fortunately, I always had my REI Joule sleeping bag at night to eventually warm me up!) If you're walking through a parking lot to your car, this will do, but I will definitely be looking for a better rain jacket for future adventures.

by fromDoes what its supposed to I just bought this for daily use. I needed a raincoat that would actually keep me dry! This one seems to work nicely. The sleeves are too long but with the velcro closure at the sleeves it can be tightened enough that the sleeve length doesn't bother me. For reference I'm 5'1 135 and a small fit great. I'm not too worried about layers since I will primarily be using this in warm weather.
