MSR  IsoPro Fuel Canister - 3.9 oz. / 110 g

I’ve never had an issue with this fuel. Have used in temps ranging from the mid 30s to high 60s. Most recently used it with my Soto Amicus (non-igniter version), camping in the Humboldt Redwoods. Thursday: Boiled 2 cups Friday: Boiled 5 cups Saturday: Boiled: 4 cups Sunday: Boiled 2 cups ***Canister still felt like there was a lot left It was quite windy, so I used it with my Optimus windshield.

Love using this fuel with my Pocket Rocket stove. The ability to buy different sizes of fuel canisters is very convenient and can be adjusted depending on how long of a trip and how many meals you'll be making. Bonus feature about these canisters is you can measure how much fuel remains in the canister by simply placing in still water, tipping to release any air bubbles underneath it, and then letting it float. Read the water level on the canister and that is an accurate enough estimate of how much fuel remains.

When I connected it to my stove it went whoosh, and then I opened the valve, lit it and it roared until the water in the pot boiled. Since I was flying home after the hike we donated what was left to some other Wonderland hikers. Their tale is not known

It's a great size for packing our fuel canisters and stove into our cook set pots to save space. My wife and I take these on longer day hikes or short 1-2 day backpacking trips. For our usage, they able to boil water for drinking and re-hydrating meals roughly 20 times.

I have an Optimus crux lite stove and took a partially full Jet boil Jetpower canister and a MSR 3.9oz isopro as a backup on a 2night backpacking trip for 2 people. We were at 7500' and using the MSR in temps in high 20's to 40's. It was not windy. We calculate that the 3.9 oz MSR boiled only 5 liters of water and warmed 2 tortillas before running out. Luckily it was our last planned meal and the 2nd tortilla was mostly warm. Is that normal? It seems less than expected. It seems that the calculations are 1.6 to 1.8L per oz, but that should have resulted in 6.2 to 7.0 Liters. I'm sure altitude affects it but then the water boils at lower temps so...?? It may be just what is normal in those conditions and I should plan accordingly on future trips. * of note one of our food packets noted that cook time should be doubled for every 5000' above 5000', so we 1.5x our times with excellent cooked food results. It was very reliable, burned well and heated quickly in mid 20's temperatures I would use again, I would just plan on more.

MSR was the first company to have the diagram about floating the canister in water to determine the fuel level. BRAVO MSR. This fuel also seems to be more consistent than the other brands. Hot weather, windy, super cold, this stuff always works.

My husband and I bought both the 4 ounce and 8 ounce fuel cannisters to go with our new MSR Micro Rocket for backpacking. We used the 4 ounce first, thinking that it would not last through many meals, however it allowed us to heat up our water for freeze-dried meals 8 separate times and still has some left! The last 2 times were in 19 degree snowy mountains, and the cold still did not affect our isopro's ability to boil water efficiently. One of the biggest perks is that the 4 ounce cannister fits nicely inside of GSI Pinnacle Dualist pot and pan set so it does not take up extra space in my pack. I would absolutely recommend this product.

Works as expected and fits in a 750ml Toaks cup perfectly. I haven't used it in any extreme scenarios, just basic backpacking and cooking at campsites. I expect in the future I will buy the cheaper options when its not going to be extremely cold out.

Can get several trips out of one canister and super lightweight to use on backpacking trips. Quickly heats up my 300-500ml for food or coffee on the go. It tucks nicely in my 550ml Toaks cup with lid on.
