    I too had the REI 3.5 Camp Mat but less than a year later it began leaking! If REI can fix that issue, I would go back to it in a heart beat as it was VERY comfortable. The 3" Thermarest Lux. Mat is also comfortable but that extra 1/2 inch of padding in the REI mat really makes a difference. The other issue with the Thermarest is it seems a bit narrow. I have the "Long" mat which is a bit wider than the regular. None the less it seems to be a fine mat and comfortable thus far.

    Sometimes I have to sleep on the floor because of low back trouble and hence the reason for a comfortable mat. At the risk of sounding like Goldie Locks the Thermarest makes the floor/ground just right!

    Service and delivery comments:

    REI is the best for membership returns!! I brought back the REI mat without a receipt and exchanged it for the Thermarest no questions asked. The only problem was I believe I picked up the demo mat as it leaked after the first us! I promptly took it back and exchanged it for a brand new one and so far so good!

      I replaced an REI 3.5" pad (avoid 'em) with this one. It is an awesome car-camping/boating pad. Its far to big and heavy to pack anywhere, but it is great when you don't have to carry it. Ive used it over a year and it has no leaks, etc. Great pad.
