The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

I'm nowhere near this rate, but the kids always like to 'share' our chairs. The bad part is it was just too big to deal with, especially when trying to return it to the carrying bag (fit was too tight). So we returned it for the Camp X Chair.
I would recommend this, but you have to be willing to deal with these issues. Also, it became rather heavy when carrying it out on the fields, especially when compared to other options.

Rated4out of5byDwight PfromSturdy and ComfortableI was looking for a fold-up chair that won't break quickly. This chair meets that requirement very well. I'm impressed with the sturdy construction. It's also roomy - more than I needed.
On the negative side, these are quite a bit heavier than the inexpensive fold-up chairs sold at discount stores. I was hoping for a chair back that was high enough to also be a headrest. This chair back isn't that tall. I can slide down in the chair and lean my head back, but that wouldn't be comfortable for long events.
Overall it's a good chair.

Rated5out of5bySpecial Kfromvery sturdy outdoor chairI bought this as a general purpose outdoor chair for camping and other outdoor events. The frame of the chair is made of thick metal and feels very sturdy. The body of the chair also feels very well made. It has 2 cup holders plus a pouch hanging down off the side of the chair to hold a phone, wallet, keys, or anything else you might want to keep handy. The chair comes with a convenient carrying case.
I'm 6' tall and think that this chair fits me fine. I also tried the standard REI Camp Chair and it seemed a little too small.
The only downside to this chair is that it is fairly large, even when folded up. REI lists the chair's weight as 10 lbs. which isn't that heavy, but it certainly isn't light either compared to some of the smaller chairs REI sells.
I'm still giving it 5 stars though because the size and weight aren't that big of a problem to me. You'll have to try the chair out to see if the size and weight are an issue.

Rated2out of5byMN Mike BfromDisappointed in qualityBased on good reviews, I bought this as a gift for my wife. I thought the pieces of cracked plastic molding in the store model were an anomaly. Unfortunately, bad plastic popped up again. The band around the cup holder on my chair was cracked and broken out of the bag the first time.
My wife immediately noted the cup holders are too big for a can of pop.

Rated5out of5byMarkdaddyfromGet ready to save your seat.Get ready to fight for your seat. Every time that I got up to stoke the fire, go to the cooler, or grab something from my tent, somebody would take my seat. They preferred this chair to their own. It's almost like having a love seat to yourself. It's pretty sturdy. All of the seams and connections are more durable than folding chairs found else where. That's what sold me on this chair. Plus REI backs up it's gear.
There are only two minor cons. One would be my preference for a higher back. But it's so comfy that I'll get over it. Two would be one of the plastic grommets have shown signs of wear after my second trip with it. I'm a bigger boy, and I'm hoping it's just settling in. If not, I'm sure REI will back up this otherwise excellent product.

Rated4out of5byBecky PfromGreat Purchase!I bought the first chair to replace a chair that broke, the husband requested a more comfortable chair if possible. This is it! This chair is wider and deeper than your average chair in a bag. I liked it so much I ordered one for myself too. The beverage holder is a little tricky to use.

Rated5out of5byCapital CfromThe "Xtra" is for "Xtra comfy!"My wife and I spent a day searching for camp chairs and REI turned out to have solutions for both our criteria. This is the chair she settled on - she describes it as a "chair-and-a-half for camping." It's roomy enough for her plus one of our kids to sit on, and with a weight rating of 400lbs (400? INSANE!), we're not worried about it falling apart any time soon.
The only down-side (not necessarily a "con"), could be that the enormously oversized cup holders don't hold small beverages very well (eg. a beer bottle).
The bag is roomy enough to get the chair in and out easily, and it feels like a much sturdier construction than the "sporting store" variety.
