Big Agnes Air Core Insulated Sleeping Pad is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the Job Its comfortable and doesnt leak. Kind of a pain to deflate and roll up but I cant remember ever being cold from the ground while using this pad. I wish it packed smaller but its about the size of a Jetboil so its not too bad. The job of a sleeping pad is to add comfort and decrease heat loss due to the cold ground, this pad does both. Roll it up differently every time to avoid creases.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from meh I took this with me to Patagonia to use for backpacking/Trekking and it didn´t last more then a few weeks before developing a small leak that i could not find. I was hoping to put it in a lake to find the leak but unfortunately it was stolen along with my backpack. So the slow leak may have been a quick fix so don´t hold that against it too much. It is very comfortable but took forever to inflate and if there is a slope you will slide right off.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not great! Quality varies. I got this as a Chirstams present to pair with my BA Lost ranger. I've spent 4 nights in it this spring in 30-40 degree temps here in the pacific northwet. First night I was a little cold and shed my baselayer to warm the pad, it worked. the second night I slept much warmer. The third night I felt cooler in warmer temps. By the fourth night on the pad it had developed a slow leak, I was very careful not to expose it to any sharp edges and spent the night reinflating it about every hour. So the leak and finding it really exposed some weaknesses of the pad. To find the leak I took it in the shower and the water made the fabric a little clearer so I could actually look inside the pad. The leak: was at the head of the pad on top right where a fold forms when inflated, not a complete puncture so its my belief that it came from stress at the fold and not a puncture. Now here is wher you need to pay attention to the insulation. It is a thin layer of prima loft glued to the inside of the pad on top and bottom. As I was looking for the leak I could see where the glue had come undone and the thin layers of prima loft had actually fallen down in the beams of the pad creating cold spots. I am a little disaponted in the quality of this pad as I own alot of BA gear and love it. I regret that I did recomend this pad to a friend after the first few nights on it. My other hiking buddies have this one and have no complaints so perhaps this is a fluke in the design. Either way I am not going to gamble on it and will look for another insulated pad. I will be returning this pad regretfully. I am giving it three stars because my friends love theirs, I am not in love with it so much and think I just got a bad one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great!! I used it for some winter camping in Shanandoah National Park. Low temps reached about 16. It's comfy kept me off the ground and warm. I didn't have any problems with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ah, a good night's sleep! I'd rather pack in a little extra weight and sleep well for the whole trip than prance about sprightly for the first day and drag the rest of the time due to lack of proper sleep. This thing helped me sleep comfortably and well!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Slip off constantly I've used this product on two car camping trips to hot springs, nc and mt Rogers. Temps in high 30's at night, and is warm with down bag. Also lightweight and easy to pack for car camping. But what good is all that if you can't sleep because the thing is so slippery? It's going back!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for now, but guaranteed to leak I've had this product for a couple years now. My wife has one, too. Out of the box this is a great product: it is warm and comfortable. Camping in the snow, I use this pad on top of a short foam pad and it is enough to keep my skinny frame warm. It is also comfortable (thick) enough so I don't wake up with lower back aches, which is what happens when I sleep on just the foam pad. However, after a decent amount of use (maybe 20 nights), I started waking up on the cold hard ground with the pad deflated below me. Then the leak rate accelerated and I would need to reinflate multiple times during the night (great way to annoy your tent mate). I tried repairing it, patching about a dozen small pinholes, but it would still leak. I sent it back to the company, and they were kind enough to send me a new one. Unfortunately, now my wife's Big Agnes Air Core Insulated is starting to leak. I patched it, but I don't even want to use it any more. After my experiences, I'm giving up on inflatable air mattresses. Why have such unreliable gear? Besides the inevitable slow leak, you can't use an air mattress in thorny/desert environments where it might get pricked. And you can't simply throw it down and sit on it during winter snack breaks like you can with a foam pad - especially if you're wearing crampons! The extra comfort an air mattress provides is just not worth the hassle. So I give this product an average of 3 stars: 5 for the first dozen nights, 1 star for the rest of its useless life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Sleeping Pad!!! I absolutely love this sleeping pad. I am a side sleeper, so I was used to camping not being the most comfortable thing....until now. I used to wake up with sore hips with every other sleeping pad I've used, but not with this one! It does take a bit longer than normal to inflate, but it's worth it for those 3 inches of comfort :) All in all, I am so happy with this purchase!!
