        I am perplexed.

        The performance of this jacket is remarkable. As one reviewer noted, it feels like wearing warm air. Virtually weightless but noticeably warm. An impressive engineering accomplishment.

        However, the fit is awkward. Narrow at the chest, wide at the waist, for "pear-shaped bodies". I also tried the larger size which fit the chest, but was too long and floppy everywhere else. I would imagine that most customers shopping for an ultra light layer will have an athletic build, not a pear-shape.

        I am perplexed that a product with so much R&D would miss the mark on simple fit. Active men have athletic bodies.

        this i is a great jacket i bought this jacket for a replacement for the Patagonia ultra light jacket it is warmer lighter wight and only 18 bucks more plus it fit better this is the best jacket i ever bought

          I bought this product for a trip to the (lower) Himalayas, and also have been walking the dog in it! Comfortable down to mid-20s with only t-shirt underneath, which is amazing considering it only weights 7.5 oz. Have seen other reviewers question the wind-proofing around the zipper. Have only tested it against a light wind so far, but it was fine. The main down side is that although it's comfortably snug in the chest, there's enough room for quite a big pot belly, and I don't have one. (This is not because I'm really muscular in the chest; I'm a pretty slim guy.) But the cinch at the bottom mitigates any heat loss due to this slight bagginess. The generously sized pockets are also nice, and it packs extremely compactly into one of them.
