The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.
Rated5out of5byProfessor KfromFantastic helmetI recently bought this helmet and love it. I previously had a cheaper Giro helmet, which I enjoyed, but this one fits my head more snuggly, provides significantly more air flow, and sits on the head with little movement. The helmet is also light with great adjustments for fit. The only downside is that the cushioning in the helmet could be a bit softer and thicker. You do get a replacement set of inserts which is great (as long as you don't forget where you store them).

Rated5out of5byBFranksfromGreat Helmet, Fits like a gloveGreat helmet! Feels compact and it's light. The specs say it's 275 grams for a medium, but I measured mine at home and it came in at 256 grams, medium size. Large vents allow for a lot of air to pass through.

Rated5out of5byA1A RiderfromThis is my second one of these. My previous helmet of this model was destroyed protecting my head...went down head first on pavement at 22mph due to newbie in the pace line. Cracked the helmet in 5 places...didn't lose consciousness but everything did go black with my eyes open for about 15 seconds. Called Giro who recorded the serial # and gave me a discount credit for a replacement helmet. Buy it!

I have always hated wearing a helmet. The fit was always terrible. Ventilation was poor. My last helmet actually had plastic that cut my forehead when I wore it. Needless to say I only wore it during events that required a helmet.
I finally decided to spend the amount of money required to be comfortable in a helmet. I went in with a lot of doubt that regardless of the cost - I would still hate wearing the helmet.
I am full grown man but based on the sizes I ordered a medium. It fit me perfectly but I had a slight complex that the helmet was 'too small' for me. This was due to the size of medium and nothing to do with the actual fit. The first time I wore the helmet I was in love. I did not even notice I was wearing a helmet. That kind of says it all for someone that never wanted to wear one in the first place.
The true test came in the 2013 RAGBRAI. I went down at about 15 mph in a corner. My front tire was jammed between another rider's bottom bracket and crank. I saw the tire jammed and the next thing I knew my head slammed the pavement. Absolutely no time in between to react or make other decisions. I had road rash on my hands, elbow and leg. BUT my head was entirely trauma-free. The helmet cracked in several places but it did its job and saved the day. I would never have finished the RAGBRAI and might not be typing this if not for the helmet.
Do yourself a favor and find a helmet you will actually wear and do it.

Rated4out of5byWade solpwrfromIt made me faster! No, really! This is now my everyday helmet for both road and trails. It's noticably lighter than my old Giro Havoc. The fit system and pads are easy and minimal. The ventilation is excellent.
My only concern is the exposed styrofoam on the underside edge of the helmet. That always seems to get dinged up in my world. Helmets need to be able to rattle around with large, heavy, sharp and pointy things inside vehicles, and survive getting thrown off to the side of a trail.
Strava says I'm faster! Sadly, its not the helmet.

Rated4out of5byM1kefromgood helmet, expensiveIt's well ventilated and light, huge difference in comfort over cheaper helmets I've used. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the finish is rougher than I'd expect from something at this price point. (Rough edges on the styrofoam where it forms points, for example.) Watch for a sale, then it's a solid buy.
