The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Rated5out of5byAndrew WfromGreat for Winter HikesI bought this bottle a month ago, so I could use it for hiking/snowshoeing in the winter. I've also used it to bring coffee & tea into grad school classes.
The 17oz vacuum bottle holds heat extremely well. I filled this up with soup at 3AM one morning, drove out to the mountains, and hiked up to treeline by 10:30. There was nothing better than enjoying hot cream of chicken soup while the wind and snow whisked around us. In fact, I had to let the soup cool off in the lid/cup a little bit before I was able to sip it. I'll be taking this bottle on every winter trip I do! It's a little heavy to add to your pack, but it's so worth it. The bottle perfectly fits a can of soup. I love the stainless steel finish, and the craftsmanship feels sturdy.

Rated5out of5byTenFootStormfromBuy ThisI bought this 'generic' brand thermos for my ski pack just prior to a 2 week ski trip to WA and BC. I filled it with hot tea daily and was literally shocked at how well it worked. I could pour hot tea up to 9 & 10 hours later. And we had temps of -8°F to -15°F that first week.
Recommendation: save some $$ and go with the REI brand version of this. It's excellent.

Rated5out of5bySciencefromMine broke, but I'll be getting anotherI work long shifts. Think 12 to 16 hours. After a few weeks with my most recent job, I got tired of using up so many paper coffee cups, and decided to invest in this product.
It is fantastic.
I can make my coffee at 3am and it'd still be very hot 4 hours later if I leave it closed. It's ability to keep liquids hot is amazing. It'll keep coffee warm for my entire shift.
I wish the inner lid would have been made more sturdy, though. I dropped my filled bottle onto linoleum (without the outer lid on) and the inner lid shattered. I'll probably be buying another of the same... 4.5 / 5 stars.

Rated5out of5byRawahfromBetter Than ExpectedAfter reading the reviews, I decide to buy this to replace a name brand thermos bottle.
Wow! after some testing at home I was impressed. starting temp. 196 down to 180 after 4hrs in 64 deg. house without preheating.
Used a lot recently for hiking in the cold. Preheated each time, and coffee was too hot to drink after 5 hrs. Luckily the temps were single digits and even lower so the coffee cooled quickly in the little cup. Also tried this while drinking a cup each hour in those cold temps. Last cup was as hot as first.
The best thing is the cup. It screws on/off easy and does not burn hands during use... unlike other thermoses I have tried.
Overall this performs better than my other thermoses and better I expected. Can't beat the price or weight. I think I am going to get the bigger brother to this one.

Rated5out of5byFuerzaviejofromHighly recommended!I purchased this for my wife over 6 months ago for her to use on backpacking trips and cold mornings and he absolutely loves it. Our daughter used it once, liked it so much that she bougth one for herself.
I borrowed on an outing this last December when the temperatures dropped below 0. I filled it in at 7am at camp and my drink was still scalding hot by 6pm in the afternoon.

Rated5out of5bySparty837fromYou won't regret this thermos!I just recommended this to a few friends so I thought I'd pass along the good news about this thermos. I live in Boston and usually get around by bike. I can put this thermos in my backpack or panniers, and it never spills and only a serious drop would dent it. Also, it spent most of the day yesterday running errands. I left the thermos, which I had filled with boiling water at 8 a.m., in the car in cold and snowy parking lots almost all day. When I finally decided I wanted tea, I just opened it, steeped my tea bags, and drank super warm tea. It was 9 p.m. I kid you not! On the negative side, I use it almost exclusively for a mint tea I love because it tends to keep a bit of the minty smell around anyway. It takes several other teas to completely get it out. I don't mind though. Happy sipping!
