Comments about REI Evaporator Ski Duffel:
I purchased this product for light airline travel and for storage and carrying of ski gear for two people around my home area.
I've got only one negative about the bag; I took it on two flights; the first had no issues. On the second, the attendant claimed it was too large to count as a "boot bag" that accompanies skis and wanted to charge it as an extra bag. They called over the manager who allowed it, but there may be some risk trying to use this as a boot bag for airline travel.
No other negatives at all.
For one person's equipment, it's plenty large. I fit adult boots in the outside carry slots, while inside I had a child's ski boots, adult and child helmet, goggles, gloves, hats - basically everything else. This bag is very large. It has elastic "pockets" on the inside, a waterproof pocket, and a slot for one pair of goggles.
The construction feels solid. It has both carry handles and a shoulder strap. I find both to be correctly sized for the bag and comfortable enough to use.

Comments about REI Evaporator Ski Duffel:
Love the bag. Tons of space and great for travel, with separate waterproof compartments for your goggles, gloves, hats, etc. I flew with it to Tahoe this weekend, and United Airlines let me check it for free with my skis under the "ski boot bag" luggage exception.
The only con I would note is that the zippers do not have holes for TSA locks. That's a bit disappointing.

Comments about REI Evaporator Ski Duffel:
I was looking for a pack that can travel well for weekend snowboard trips and found it. With designated compartments for boots, wet clothes, and gear; there is plenty of room to pack more than the essentials. Although I haven't used the pack for its intended use, I loaded it up after coming home from the store (REI - Denver) to ensure it would satisfy my need. Of course the true test is time and my only concern would be the strength of the zippers and backpack straps. However with REI's commitment to quality and product satisfaction, I would be surprised to find a better product within a comparable price range ($80-$100).
