Our Novara Ponderosa® 29er hardtail mountain bike is ready to rip, rail and rally down singletrack bliss thanks to a 100mm fork, hydraulic disc brakes and SRAM X7 2x10 drivetrain.
- Butted 6061 aluminum frame features an S-bend down tube and bent seat tube for enhanced handling, fit and performance
- SR Suntour Raidon-LO Air 29 fork boasts a customizable spring rate, stiff 32mm stanchions, alloy steerer, magnesium lowers and lockout
- SRAM X7 drivetrain offers the reliability and weight savings of a 2x10 drivetrain while maintaining fast, precise gear changes to meet changing terrain
- Tektro Auriga Pro hydraulic disc brakes maintain consistent performance in all conditions

I use this bike for going on difficult MTB trails as well as casual rides on the street for 8- 10 mile distances.
From the components to the paint color I love this bike. It was a bit on the high end for a MTB but I think its worth the investment. If you buy something lower you'll end up quickly replacing it with parts or a new bike entirely which will end up costing you the same price as this bike in the end.
The only gripe I have about this bike is its difficult to add certain accesories to it due to the pins on the body being located too high.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

My first 29er and I really like it. Didn't have a lot to spend on a big name brand. This bike had comparable components to a trek bike that would have been almost twice as much $. Great customer service and warranty if you are a member too.

I purchased this bike about a month ago and have been very pleased. 29er is great! Have nearly 100 miles on it so far without an issue. This is trail riding, gravel and pavement. Shifts great and handles my size very well. I'm a bigger guy at 320 pounds and have had no issues! The air fork and double wall rims are a must for a big guy and this bike has both!
Very nicely equipped components for the price. I bought it on sale when it was 20% off and I couldn't find another bike that came with similar components within a few hundred dollars of it.

I've had this bike for a couple of months now, and ridden it for over 100 miles. For the price point, the components are great. SRAM X7 is more than adequate for any type of riding including racing. For a 29er, its lightweight and the 2x10 gear setup is awesome. Really impressed with this bike so far. If you buy during one of the REI sales, you can't beat it.

If you are comparing this to any other similar priced and components just get the Ponderosa. I have ridden all bikes from major brands like Specialized, Trek ect. and smaller brands like BAMF, Niner ect. For the price line this is a top ride, components solid and unless you weigh over 250 275 lbs I've never broken a frame (well maybee a huffy or two) anyway the only thing this bike does not have is a "name brand" label which in my mind makes this bike even more AWSM. Buy this bike it Shreds. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is I'm a Rock Shox fan but so far after a number of rides around Lake Tahoe trails I don't notice the difference of the Suntour.

I ride this bike on paved trails and singletrack and its great for both.
Very impressed with the SRAM X7 2x10 drivetrain. Very easy to stay in the right gear whether on flat or hilly terrain. I particularly like the ability to shift up 1 or 2 gears at a time. Nice brakes and shocks too.
I did a lot of research before buying and felt that the Ponderosa was the best bang for the buck out there. At this time of the year the price was especially unbeatable.
Altogether I am thrilled with this bike!
