Rated4out of5byNforetfromGood value on SaleI got this on sale from normal price $70. I use it for early morning workout in the elements. It does exactly what it says it going to do. Only compliant, draw string on the back of the head. You can't lean you head back on a surface without having a sensation of a hitting it on a small rock.

Rated4out of5byPeak SeekerfromBe sure to buy one size larger..My biggest concern is the sizing, which runs very small so save yourself an exhange and go up one size from what you normally would order. I'm 5'10, 210 pounds and wear a large in just about any clothing. I ordered a "large" of this jacket and it was too small for any layering other than something very thin and even then the jacket was tight across my back. I exchanged for an X large and the fit is perfect. I also ordered an XX large for my brother (5'11", 215 ) who NEVER wears an XX large and the jacket fits him great. I've not really tested waterproofness for prolonged periods or breathability yet as I've only worn it several times in the rain for short periods with little physical exertion. But I will see how well it repels water and "breaths" when I wear it in the Upper Kings River of the Sierra's for dayhikes to flyfishing spots. Since I cant rate the breathability, I gave the jacket a 4 star rating. I'm hesitant to believe its "breathable" given the lack of a mesh-lining or high-tech breathable material found in higher-priced rain jackets, but a good hike will reveal the truth. The pit-zips are a nice feature to minimize condensation/clammy feeling. ... I will say the coat is very stylish and I've received numerous complements on the black/white contrast of inside/outside colors. I purchased the jacket mainly for wear around town in the rain and its performed very well in that environment. So if you're looking for rainwear to bang around town in that's stylish, I'd highly suggest this jacket. I just can't yet comment on prolonged exposure to rain or how well it breaths under physical exertion. .. I was also drawn to "Sierra Designs" as I have purchased a number of items from them over the years that I've been happy with as their stuff is very well constructed. This coat is no different, and at the reduced price, I think its a awesome bargain even if you never get a chance to test its weather capabilities...

Rated5out of5bySagamanfromGreat Jacket for the priceI purchased this jacket and the corresponding Hurricane pants (black)for general use. So far the jacket and pants have proven to be absolutely waterproof. After being in downpours for hours I had not a drip of water. I even had my son spray me with the garden hose with great results. The fit is good and provides for full range of motion. I have not "worked" in the gear yet so I don't know how breathable it is, especially with sealed seams. So far VERY happy!
