The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Osprey Quantum Daypack:
I use this bag mainly for travel and it has been really wonderful. I get tons of compliments on it. I like the size and lightness of the pack as well as all of the pockets. I agree that it's not really ideal for a laptop although I do put my laptop in it and haven't had a problem.. there's just not a lot of padding so I'm careful. Very high quality and worth the price.

Comments about Osprey Quantum Daypack:
It is amazing what having a light back pack makes when commuting. I went from a Targus laptop bag to this bag and it was a real noticeable difference in the weight. It is very comfortable sits on my back well.
I really like the laptop compartment but it does not have very good padding. I recommend having a hard shell or a sleeve on your computer if you are not careful when putting your bag down. The plus side to the lack off padding is that is makes this a great day pack when the laptop compartment is empty.
I love the deep pockets and all the adjustable straps. The long straps can get in the way when not in use. The outer most pocket is a great pocket for keys but the zipper flap gets in the way and may not lend it self to one handed quick access.
Overall the bag is great, large capacity, and light weight. Fits better than any Ogio or Targus bag that I've ever had.

Comments about Osprey Quantum Daypack:
I purchased this pack when I started needing to carry two laptops for work. It replaced my Timbuk2 Classic Messenger of many years. I carry either two 13" or one 13" and one 15" laptop in the Osprey Quantum very comfortably. It travels with me to work every day and also goes nicely on the plane and train.
I like that even with two laptops in the main compartment, the bag rides flat and close to my back. The material is lightweight and feels durable. The suspension straps are nice and adjustable.
The bag isn't particularly water-resistant; I ended up treating it with Nikwax TX Direct. It would be better if it had more individual pockets overall. Also, the side pockets are difficult to access when the side straps are latched. Sometimes items in the side pockets interfere with loading larger items in the pack's main compartment. For users with less to carry, I think the Osprey Comet might be a better option.
