Comments about Gregory Z55 Pack - 2011 Closeout:
I have used the pack for about a year. Material and parts (such as clips) appears to hold up to wear well. It isn't a ultra-durable pack (wouldn't expect it as it is a medium-to-light pack). Features are reasonable. Pockets are well throught out, especially the large kangroo pouch on the back. Padding is thin, but suprisingly comfortable. Pack is easy to adjust (waist adjustment is awesome!). Ventilation is quite good. I use it for weekend backpacking trips or long day hikes. Suspension is excellent fo 30lbs or less. Overall I feel this pack is a better alternative to some options provided by Osprey that seem very delicate.
Cons: Due to the ventilation system, it is NOT good for heavy loads (35+). This is a lightweight pack, treat it as such. Ventilation system also makes packing a little tricky, especially with a water reservoir. If you try packing your a gear a couple times, it becomes quite simple. Pack straps squeak on the shoulders sometimes...easy to fix.

Comments about Gregory Z55 Pack - 2011 Closeout:
I have used this pack with loads up to 30lbs traveling on the plane and an overnighter. Very stable and comfortable.
I like the front pocket that has a shove it pocket behind it. It has been handy for my jacket and stashing slippers.
The size is also so good that I can use it on 3 day treks but can be made small enough to bring for hand carry purposes on the plane.
The spindrift collar is made of the same material as the packback which I like a lot because of its durability.
If there is something I would ask for, it would be that the top lid be convertable to a day pack.
I have tried the Arc'Teryx Bora 50, 80 and Granite Gear 3800 and all are good. But I would choose the Z55 over them because it is lighter and has a more 'usable' design.
