    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

The North Face Surge II Daypackis rated4.3929out of5by28.
Rated5out of5byfromGreat school, work, hiking tech backpackThis has become my go-to backpack for everyday use. Ideal for iPads, notebooks, pens, books, and all the stuff you can put in it. After untold years of service and literally millions of miles, I needed to move up from my TNF Wasatch. The Surge ii filled the bill perfectly for me. All kinds of compartments forces me to be more organized. Zippers that don't get stuck in the flap material makes it a pleasure to use. Things don't bang around and everything is secure. A perfect backpack for me. Feels so much lighter carrying the same stuff as the Wasatch. 10 for 10

Rated4out of5byfromAmost PerfectI purchased this pack primarly to protect a new 15.4" computer that my wife and I are sharing. The pack is beautiful and has plently of room for the laptop, a tablet, notebook, cables, and accessories. It is extremely comfortable when worn. My only complaint is the size of the grab handle at the top of the pack. Although it is very sturdy it is only about 1/2' wide. A wider handle would be nice.

Rated4out of5byfromALMOST perfectBought this to use as my primary laptop case (15" MP), but also wanted to have the option to take this out on a day hike. Love how compartmentalized this backpack is. The dedicated laptop area is excellent and I have plenty of room in the main compartment to stuff whatever else I need, such as lunch containers and workout clothes. The front compartment is very deep, this backpack has a ton of storage and organizational pockets. The only downside I have with this backpack that kept it from being perfect is that there is no dedicated parts for a bladder. I can rig up a way to hang the bladder in the laptop area and then feed the tube through the zipper, which should work, but adding a hook and a small opening built into the backpack would have made this my PERFECT back. Still, I'm loving it, and it is most definitely the best backpack I've ever owned. The construction and materials just seemed to me to be the best out there for this price range. And trust me, I looked everywhere first.

Rated4out of5byfromThe best laptop pack for your moneyI travel about 50% of my month. I have to fly across the country a few times per month and this pack is getting it done for me. I need something that will carry my laptop, training books, iPad, power supply, planner and a few personal effects, and still fit nicely under my seat on the plane. This pack fits it all. I would like it just a bit bigger, maybe 5 to 10 more quarts would do the trick but other than that it's great. It has good style and lots of pockets as well as straps and connection points. Take a good look at this backpack if you need to lug around a laptop and you don't do messenger bags. Plus it's a North Face, the name alone screams quality and dependability.

Rated5out of5byfromMobile DeskI'm somewhat of a pocket snob and this back pack has all the pockets that I need. The laptop pouch is extremely padded and there is enough room for a 17" laptop plus some extra room. I also like the way that the lap top section opens from the side. The backpack is pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Rated4out of5byfromGreat Day PackI got this for school and often have to bring a lot of textbooks and notebooks plus a computer. I have a very long torso and this sits really well on my back, giving me plenty of support. Love all the pockets and haven't had any trouble with zippers. The only thing I think could be improved is the carry handle. Since I can put so much stuff in this pack, the handle feels flimsy and cuts into my hand on days I'm carrying a lot.
