Comments about iBert safe-T-seat Child Carrier:
We love this seat. I bought the seat for my one year old after having seen a Dad and son using one. It is the best! I attached it to my bike very easily (and I am no engineer). It is super stable and doesn't take any getting used to at all. My son loves to go on bike rides in it and never gets tired of riding with me. I had a rear seat for my older kids and ths is so much better. He loves interacting with me as we ride. I love that I can hear all he has to say about things we pass. Mine did not come with the padded steering wheel but I don't think I would want it to. I love the simplicity of it just as is! Perfect!

Comments about iBert safe-T-seat Child Carrier:
I'm 5'8" and have the iBert mounted on a 16.5" mountain bike. The steering is fine once you start, but starting and stopping is quite cumbersome since the carrier takes up so much relative room.
But most importantly, the screws that come with the mounting kit are not very long, and they barely clamped down on a 1.25" steerer tube. On a recent ride, the screw came undone, so the carrier fell onto my top bar. I couldn't steer, and I couldn't dismount because the carrier was in the way. Luckily, I was able to cup my arms around my child and roll us onto a kudzu mound. Very scary!
I have been able to make this product usable by getting longer screws from my local hardware store, and shored that up with a washer, nut, and lock-tite.
FWIW, my LBS (which specializes in setting up bike commuters) will not sell the iBert because of this very issue.

Comments about iBert safe-T-seat Child Carrier:
I have been using this seat for rides with my son since we was about 1-1/2. He is now 2-1/2 and we both have a blast with it!
It doesn't make the bike unbalanced like you might suspect. It is very stable and solid, even if the kid shifts around.
I wanted to be able to go on rides WITH my son, and not go on a ride and drag him along. I love that my son gets to enjoy the ride and doesn't spend the whole time looking at my back, or my back wheel. Since he is in front with me and I am leaning close to his head, we can talk easily about things we are seeing and we really have fun.
It is pretty simple to remove if you want to ride solo, which I do often.
Definitely a great product for the money.

Comments about iBert safe-T-seat Child Carrier:
We got one of these for our first child, and loved it so much we got a second when #2 arrived. It's very versatile, and we rode with our kids before they met the 1year minimum (so long as they are stable and hold their heads up well, they'll be fine).
It's much better than a rear-mounted seat, as I can interact and talk to my child, and he has a better view of everything. My kids have actually fallen asleep in them a few times!
One limitation is that because it's mounted right in front of the adult, I have to splay my knees slightly to account for it, but it's minor. Too bad the weight limit is only 40lbs!
