Don't let darkness limit your running routine. With the Black Diamond Sprinter headlamp, you can keep your training goals clearly in view.
- Designed specifically for running, the low-profile Sprinter weighs in at only 3.4 oz. and has excellent fore and aft balance so it doesn't bounce up and down while you run
- DoublePower LED has a maximum output of up to 75 lumens and throws a strong oval-shape beam up to 45m; beam is optimized for running to illuminate the ground around your feet
- Hold down the on/off button to activate the dimmer and fine-tune your lighting needs; press the on/off button twice to activate the front strobe
- Regulated output ensures consistent lighting levels even as battery power is reduced
- Rear red safety strobe helps keep you visible to cars, bikers and other runners; rear light can be turned on and off
- Headlamp is powered by a lithium polymer rechargeable battery that provides up to 42 hrs. of use on low and 6 hrs. on high; battery fully recharges in about 5 hrs.
- Removable top strap provides increased stabilization
- Sealed construction provides IPX7 water resistance (submersible to 1m)

Prior to purchase, I was running with my cell phone in hand for a minimal light assistance. Now, I run FREE with plenty of light to guide me on my dark backroad runs. LOVE IT!!! Don't hesitate and buy this product! I'd buy again in a heartbeat :)

I carry it with me in my backpack. So anytime it starts to get dark I pull it out and put. It on. I always have it with me. I feel much safer with this and my reflector safety vest on. I've gone green. It's buses or walking for me. This way I'm always ready. Come on dark!

My wife and I recently moved to a rural property. We had difficulty seeing the road, which is filled with potholes, loose rock, and a very uneven surface.
After 1 night run, I purchased this headlight for each of us. Wow! What a difference. This light perfectly "floods" the area in which you need to see. Our night runs have been much safer now that we can see!
The red flash in the rear of the headset is a plus, improving visiblity for vehicles to see us. If you are a runner and need a headlamp, don't consider anything else!

I run at least once a week in the dark, through the woods (on or off trail), up creeks, and through heavy briars. I need a reliable, waterproof and bright headlamp. I purchased several different battery powered models, but every one broke. I have returned them all to REI, but this model. The fact that there is a solid state rechargeable battery makes the headlamp very reliable as well as inexpensive to use. Definitely a great buy for a great product.

Finding a headlamp with the right balance of output, battery life, and fit is difficult. The sprinter meets my requirements with good marks, and is a good compromise of all features.
For running, it is bright enough to light the trail several steps in front of me. The flashing modes (front and rear) are also good features to keep you visible.
So far, the battery lasts up to 6 hours so it is good for the daily workout. Overnight runs will not work well unless you had several on hand. As can be expected, the brightness drops off quickly near the end of charge.
It is always a tradeoff between the internal rechargeable battery and disposables. But in this case, the compromise works for me.
The USB charger is also convenient. At least I don't need to buy or lug around a special charger.
It is lightweight enough that I don't even notice it while running. The head straps are snug and keep it from bouncing. Because it sits directly on my skull, I have not been able to use it with a helmet.

I got this about 2 weeks ago since I live in Michigan and it has been getting dark earlier and I must say it is the best and brightest thing! It is perfect for running and keeping yourself safe. Everyone can see you with the blinking front and back light perfect for dawn or dusk but when its dark the full light headlamp is wonderful! You can see EVERYTHING! This is a MUST PURCHASE item for any city or rural running!

I use this for early morning runs or late night runs during the non-summer months. It's super light and I love that it's rechargeable, which means no batteries to buy and that also makes it lighter. It stays put while running even without the band that goes over the top of your head. It's a little bit of work to adjust it back and forth between my husband and I but that's minor. I run in the darkness of morning and he goes at night so it's a daily switch.
The huge selling point for me is the fact that it already has a flashing red light in the back. I didn't want to have to remember 10 million things to just go on a run.

I have the older version, but they are pretty much the same. I really like this light. I use it for jogging in the early morning or at night. Light is easily and quickly adjustable and bright. I really appreciate the indicator light in the back. I find that those who start their commute at 0500 tend to wake up while on the road.
I love the fact that it's rechargeable. The energy cell is also much lighter than a lamp full of AAA's, but brighter than lights with the expensive little circular batteries). I have a couple other BD headlamps (one LED only and one LED/incandescent) and this is my go-to at this point.
