Now even brighter than before, the Princeton Tec Remix headlamp outputs 100 lumens to light up the trail ahead. It's an essential tool to have when backpacking or traveling.

Single Maxbright LED throws a bright white beam up to 73m on high; three 5mm LEDs reach up to 53m on high
Remix is available with red, white or green 5mm LEDs; select which version you want when purchasing; all versions include a white Maxbright LED
Red LEDs minimize the impact on your night vision; green LEDs are helpful when looking at topographic maps
Both the Maxbright LED and the three 5mm LEDs can be operated on high or low to suit your lighting needs

Finally a headlamp with a red LED option--thats bright. If you ever have to night hike in thick fog/mist you will see a major improvement with this red option--you can actually see your feet! My previous Remix has worked great and this newer model has about 30 more lumens (100 vs. 70).

No long term data yet but so far this is my favorite headlamp. The PT Byte was nice and light but has a very dim red LED vs. this one.

PS REI should allow these reviews to be edited by the writer--this allows for long term use updates,etc.

I've only had this a few weeks but have used it several times in my workshop. And it works great. At night there are dark spots in the shop and this provides the extra light I need to see the details in woodworking. I generally use it on the 2nd level of brightness and that's all I need but it's nice to have two more levels if more is needed. Light weight enough that I can wear it the whole time I'm working. And the simple strap doesn't get in the way of the breathing apparatus, safety goggles and hearing protection gear.

I use this product at work and for outdoor activities (fishing, camping, etc). I love that it is light and comfortable on my head. Being able to adjust from LED's to a spotlight is great too. The spotlight is very bright and the beam reaches far. The LED's do a great job of the batter lasting long but providing enough light to hike and work in pitch darkness. I've had this light for over 2 years and have only changed the batteries once. I highly recommend it! The price is very reasonable for such a quality light. I've purchased three more of these for gifts for my family members.

I had bought this last year and have used it a ton. So now I am pawning the old one off to the wife and got another one with the red LED. I have used 4-5 other brands and this has been my fav so far.
