          I took this on my 2012 Appalachian Trail thru hike and it was awesome. I was a little concerned about 1) punctures and 2) being comfortable on only 1" of pad. Neither were a problem, even on hard shelter floors.

          Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

            I bought this for an extended bike tour to replace an old Thermarest Ultralite pad. It's a huge improvement: lighter, more compact, and more comfortable (I guess all pads have a nonslip surface now, but it was a revelation to me.) Really pleased with how small it packs down.

            I've used it mostly in grassy campsites in summer: not sure it would be as comfortable on cold Sierra granite. But it's been perfect for European bike touring.

              I have given up on inflatable pads. I took this thing hitchhiking for two months and it now has at least 15 holes in it. I keep patching them using the Therm-a-rest patch kit but to no avail. It may be light but who gives a flying [*] if I can't even use it? [$] down the drain, and this isn't even my first Therm-a-rest I've had issues with.

              Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
