Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Garmin Forerunner 910XT GPS Heart Rate Monitor is rated 4.7778 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really nice improvements Mainly a runner, then mountain biking. Rarely swim, though I plan to more than I do now. My 305 died after 7 years, and at first tried the 610, but it didn't work as the smaller screen kept me from my usual four-data-field view (it's do-able, but really small), but the tap-screenchange helped fix that. However, the touch-screen for menu scrolling was really hinky and personally didn't work well at all for me. I exchanged it for the 910XT which was likely overkill for a non-tri athlete, but I LOVE that is has the similar, but slimmer, form factor of a 305, yet all the awesome improvements (vibrate alerts at the mile splits is really cool). I also like that it's capable of more swimming/cycling accuracy as I expand into those sports, it's ready for it. After struggling w/ the 610, this felt like "home". The battery life is really fantastic as well. My ONLY complaint is that the heart-rate strap, while very comfortable, requires you putting it on over your head or stepping into it (it doesn't "break" like the previous did) and the strap twists/tangles very easy. But once it's on, it's un-noticeable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must for any triathlete! I bought this watch because I needed to change from the 405, which though it's a good watch doesn't have as many features and the touch screen is actually a negative when you're sweating. The 910 is awesome and does pretty much anything a beginner triathlete needs. Pool swim - The watch actually provides much more data than one probably uses, but I routinely would lose track of my laps prior to using the watch. With it on, I just hit the button when I start and it alerts me when I hit my marks. Running - It's much better data with the GPS on, but the ability to check your pace is great. Also, you can set it to vibrate alerts for distance and time so that even if you're doing a tempo run or intervals, you can still listen to music without worrying about missing an alert to change pace. Biking - I don't really use the bike functions other than time because I have a computer on my bike and I didn't buy the accessory to attach to the bike. In open water, the GPS doesn't work great because it loses track when your hand is under water, but it still keeps track of your distance and time, which is the only thing that matters for me. Overall, a great watch if you're a triathlete, beginner or pro. If you're only running or biking, then it's probably way more than you need and you can get the same data from much cheaper watches. It's handy if you're in the pool a lot for laps and stroke rate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted While it is probably overkill for me and my capabiliities, I only wanted to make one purchase in hopes that I'll expand my activities. This is the product that seems to cover everything I'd want to do. I like that it give me lots of information that I intend to use to improve my fitness and run times. I did have to go online to find the manual to figure out more of its capabilities, and I'm still not sure how to use downloaded training events. Need a manual on how to use it, not just how to work it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trail companion This is truly the Mother of all GPS watches. It locks on to the satellites reliably, keeps up with your distance, HR and a host of other things and quickly connects and uploads your workout when you are done. Once uploaded, you get a map of your workout, linked to charts that show heart rate, elevation and speed in synch. It does so many things well. This is a huge watch but I've got to say, once it was on my wrist I hardly noticed it was there. Haven't yet tested all of its features but I'm already super impressed with this device and the Garmin Connect web site. Well worth the price paid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Essential equipment I already own the Garmin 610 and like it a lot, but in getting into triathlon more I needed the waterproof recording capability of the 910 (or so my friends told me!). I've used the 910 for about 6 months now, in Sprints, Olympics & a Half Ironman. To me it's proving essential - to the point I feel demotivated in working out if I've forgotten it or the battery is flat! It shares a lot of similarities with the 610 in terms of the data it provides you (heart rate, speed, pace, distance, time, cadence), and the screen layout and fields are totally customizable to what you want to display. Of course the big advantage over the 610 is the swim data. It'll record pool swim data (based on some kind of internal gyroscope I think) and open water swims. The Garmin Connect software is actually very good for tracking and reviewing the data from the watch. You can also upload to other sites - I parallel upload mine to Strava as some of their Segment Challenges are quite fun. Performance of the 910 has been very good. I have had it freeze up on me twice, requiring a soft reset, but other than that no problems. Accuracy wise it seems to match the 610 - so they're both correct or both wrong! I've added the cadence sensor so that I can record my bike cadence. I've also added the quick release kit which, although adding more bulk, makes it easier to take the face off and use it attached to the bike handlebars. Both kits are cheap. The only downside is that, due to its bulk, you can't really use it as a regular watch without looking like a complete dork!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Training Tool! I love using this watch to train. It was as easy to use as opening the box and putting it on. Very easy to figure out settings, changing sports, looking at your workout history and tracking totals. This is my second Garmin but my Forerunner is 6 years old. I couldn't believe how much smaller and better the technology has become. I use it six days a week to tracking my runs and cycling. The battery life is amazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great for Tri's This watch is great if you're training for multi-sport competitions. The Garmin Connect software is a great companion for tracking your progress. One wish is that it would work with the computers on spin bikes. The ANT+ protocol isn't that expansive yet, but would be a great help when training.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great watch Great watch. Amazing options, more than I have fully used. This is a great watch for serious athlete and avid exerciser alike. Much room to grow with you as you improve. Great for tri athletes.
