Awesome hiker so far. I've been through so many different pairs it's not funny. All claim to be waterproof-hardly any are. These actually do keep out the water, if you can believe that. I've submerged them in deep puddles many times and they stay dry; and that's on top of everything else they claim to be.

Due to a last minute realization my too-big Keens weren't going to cut it, I had to find a new boot. After trying on several pairs of shoes in the store, including light-hikers and full-backpacker boots, I selected the Verbera. They were happily-snug, very lightweight for their size, had tons of ankle and foot support, and looked hot too! Plus, I've had nothing but good experiences with North Face outdoor gear.

18miles on the Benton Mackaye later, these boots performed. I did manage to acquire a couple Achilles blisters, but that was my fault for not breaking them in. Having feet that have little-to-no exterior padding, my heel bone rubbed around in the heel-pocket in the boot. Breaking them in for my socks/feet should easily fix this.

My feet did not hurt at all for the full 18miles. There are plenty of adjustment opportunities for proper fit. Cushions very well. Waterproofing works 100%. Ventilates fairly well for a waterproof boot. Tons of grip on dirt/mud/rock/roots/etc. Even gripped well on wet-rocks while I was scrambling near a waterfall.

One con, the 'ballistic nylon' upper frayed after I walked around my apartment complex once. I'm a little curious how ballistic it really is.

Overall, extremely happy with these boots. They look great, feel great, and perform better. I'm very much looking forward to putting 100s of miles in these boots.

I put over 500 miles each year on my hiking boots, most of miles on short hikes in the mountains near my home. The terrain is rocky and there are some shall fords to cross. These boots were comfortable right out of the box. Normally I wear a 10 1/2 E, but the 11 size fits perfectly with a thick sock. I am hoping the soles do not wear out over the next twelve months, like most of the boots I have bought. I also bought these boots because they are relatively light weight. They are a few more ounces more than my last pair of boots, but I am hoping they will hold up better.

Very pleased thus far. Not had them for long but the have already eclipsed preivous boots for comfort. The were comfortable out of the box and have improved with wear! These really are lightweight boots and great in that respect for longer hikes.

The shoe lace "locks" are great. They allow you to keep a secure lace pressure on the body of your foot and adjustable pressure around the ankle.

My only concern is for toe-cap wear. The toe is the same synthetic material as the majority of the boot and I feel it could do with a little more protection. I've climbed in previous boots but I fear these might suffer.

All in all though a great boot for hiking and walking.
