Have only worn these on paved streets so far. I planned to wear them on a 30 mile hiking trip, but sprained my ankle 4 weeks ahead of the trip. I had been wearing them casually for 4 weeks prior and they were very comfortable. My daughter who went on the trip with me, wore the same pair on this hike. She broke them in just days before, and had no problems with the shoe. The shoe held up well, and she only had minimal toe soreness.

I have owned these shoes for almost three months and they are unquestionably the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I wanted a versatile shoe that could handle light hiking while being comfortable enough for everyday wear. They succeed, and have become my default shoe. For an everyday casual shoe, these shoes are expensive, which is why I gave four stars instead of five. Their comfort, however, is off-the-charts, so I can't complain too much. The shoes are sturdy, which makes them a good choice for light hiking. For casual wear, they are appropriate for cooler fall, winter, and spring days. They are too heavy for warm days, I've found. In general, I am really happy with this purchase, and would not hesitate to recommend these shoes to others.
