    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Merrell Chameleon 4 Stretch Hiking Shoes - Men's is rated 4.25 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Expected a Lil More I bought these before heading up Mt Washington. The draw that I had for them was the light weight of the shoes, as well as the pull cord lace. Upon wearing them for the rest of the day, my feet warmed up and began to sweat just by wearing them. I also noticed that the elastic on the heel/Achilles was just too loose and my foot could easily slip out. On the day of the hike, they faired well on the way up and provided much traction. However, the pull cord had to be pulled so tight just to keep them on. On the way down the mountain, the balls of my feet heated up quickly despite applying as much force to the heels to prevent blisters. By the end of the trip, the rubber that curls up the toes was starting to peel back a little bit on both shoes. I plan on taking them back and finding better shoes. They are decent and easy shoes for everyday use, and their lightweight is a plus, but hiking on rugged trails might prove more than they can handle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sometimes Change isn't Good This is the fourth pair of Merrell Chameleon shoes that I've purchased. They usually last about two to three years before wearing out totally. I've been wearing this style of Merrell shoes for about 10 years. In the past, each new pair had added features that added value to the shoes. Not so with the Chameleon 4 shoes. It seems like they have been cheapened to keep the price-point. I can't put my finger on it, but they don't measure up to the older ones. I'll wear these shoes until they give up the ghost. When they do, I may end up with a different brand of this style footwear.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ups and Downs When I first got the shoes I loved them. They were relatively light compared to my previous hiking/daily shoe. I know there are lighter shoes out there, but I enjoyed them. They are comfortable. I have had these almost two years and the bottoms are still in ok shape. Price is ok. My two biggest issues with them are how the heel wears out on the inside. Part of that is because it is a slip on, but still. My biggest problem was the toes. The part where the rubber starts to move up the front of the toe area started separating from the shoe almost within a month. One shoe lasted a little longer, but after the month or so it was annoying and looked terrible. Then trying to shoe glue it was even worse because of location. Other than that, the did their job and lasted this long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Hiking Shoes! I loved these shoes. I hiked for over 150 miles in the Santa Monica mountains over a 2 week period and my feet felt great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very versatile and comfortable Very comfortable all around shoe, and so far has held up to a beating quite well. Love the quicklace for everyday use - slip on/off. However, when I'm hiking up steep hills, the stretch allows the shoe to pull away from my heel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Merrell shoes rock! As always, Merrell shoes provide just the right structure for those of us who spend all day on our feet bouncing from one activity to another, whether it's recreational or simply meeting the demands of work, family, and life in general.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money, they need changes. These shoes create blisters because they allow the foot to slip. They are hot in mild climates and unbearable in hot humid climates. The spring loaded laces create hot spots and do not suppor the foot correctly. The base of the shoe is good. I think with a little adjustment and new lacing they would be much better. However. straght out of the box they are not worth the money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My new Chameleon 4's I wear every day that I can, but as a sufferer of plantar's fasciitis, I have not taken out the inserts and cut them up to accomodate my orthotics, so my feet ache after wearing them. STill love my Chameleons, especially not having to hassle with shoe laces. Love the lacing system. Way more convenient.
