The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

My first pair I had for 3 years, the only issue I had was the laces broke, I still wore them for another year, the way they are designed you don't really need laces, then the incident with the puppy. Great shoes.

Rated4out of5byJason CfromFirst time purchaseFirst time purchasing a pair of Merrell Chameleons. Have had a pair of Moabs before and liked those but was looking for something lighter I could wear everyday. When I first tried them on the shoe felt too small in the width but to large otherwise and my heel didn't feel overly supported. Since wearing them for a week or so they have become much more comfortable but still feel a little large. Traction is ok for everyday and light day hiking but I wouldn't use them for a multi day trip. Overall pleased, but will have to wait to tell on how they hold up repeated use.

Rated4out of5byzweiradfromSometimes Change isn't GoodThis is the fourth pair of Merrell Chameleon shoes that I've purchased. They usually last about two to three years before wearing out totally. I've been wearing this style of Merrell shoes for about 10 years.
In the past, each new pair had added features that added value to the shoes. Not so with the Chameleon 4 shoes. It seems like they have been cheapened to keep the price-point. I can't put my finger on it, but they don't measure up to the older ones.
I'll wear these shoes until they give up the ghost. When they do, I may end up with a different brand of this style footwear.

Rated5out of5byCaveDebfromMerrell shoes rock!As always, Merrell shoes provide just the right structure for those of us who spend all day on our feet bouncing from one activity to another, whether it's recreational or simply meeting the demands of work, family, and life in general.

Rated4out of5by2ndAmendfromExpected a Lil MoreI bought these before heading up Mt Washington. The draw that I had for them was the light weight of the shoes, as well as the pull cord lace. Upon wearing them for the rest of the day, my feet warmed up and began to sweat just by wearing them. I also noticed that the elastic on the heel/Achilles was just too loose and my foot could easily slip out. On the day of the hike, they faired well on the way up and provided much traction. However, the pull cord had to be pulled so tight just to keep them on. On the way down the mountain, the balls of my feet heated up quickly despite applying as much force to the heels to prevent blisters. By the end of the trip, the rubber that curls up the toes was starting to peel back a little bit on both shoes. I plan on taking them back and finding better shoes. They are decent and easy shoes for everyday use, and their lightweight is a plus, but hiking on rugged trails might prove more than they can handle.

Rated4out of5bystuffNjunkfromVery versatile and comfortableVery comfortable all around shoe, and so far has held up to a beating quite well. Love the quicklace for everyday use - slip on/off. However, when I'm hiking up steep hills, the stretch allows the shoe to pull away from my heel.
