The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Kuhl Liberator Convertible Pants - Men's 30" Inseam:
I keep trying to really like these pants. The fit is pretty good, a bit on the baggy side. I generally wear relaxed fit pants because I have larger legs, but these are even looser than I usually get. If you have a narrow build these will probably be huge. The inseam also runs long, I always buy 32" inseam but needed a 30" with these and they're plenty long. Surprisingly, the waist is dead on. There is a massive tag in the waistband which can rub a bit, but it is rarely noticeable to me. There is almost an overabundance of pockets, I've never actually used a couple of them. The material is comfortable and dries fairly quickly, not as fast as full synthetics, but less plastic feeling which is worth it.
Here's my only actual problem with these. I have bought and returned 3 previous pair of them because the seam down the middle of the backside has popped on every one of them. This has happened with each pair within 3-4 uses. Since they are the loosest pants I own, it's not as if they are getting over-stretched by me. Hopefully this pair will hold up, I so want to like them.

Comments about Kuhl Liberator Convertible Pants - Men's 30" Inseam:
Just finished 4 weeks on the Pacific Crest Trail in these pants. They are also my preferred around-town pants.
Great pockets. This includes the unique narrow, vertical pockets. I keep a folded up nylon utility / grocery bag in one of these pockets all the time. In the other I keep a skull cap for when it gets cold.
Only issue has been the zippers. (1) The zipper taps on the two lower pockets are too small - sometimes it takes two hands to get to them, they are so small and well hidden. Learned to keep these pockets partially open / closed, but things could easily fall out it left too far open.
(2) One zipper tab for the zip off legs disappeared within a couple of days - must have been improperly made or installed as the other tab has done just fine. Also both of the pant leg zippers are hard to start zippering because of interference by the other end of the zipper as it wraps around. This always took some fiddling.

Comments about Kuhl Liberator Convertible Pants - Men's 30" Inseam:
Excellent construction but beware of length. They seemed to run a little short, ended up exchanging the 30 inch for the 32 inch. They do not drag the floor but I can still get them off without removing my shoes if I want to. I find them very comfortable. The pockets are designed to resist pickpocket pedestrians and I like that since I travel overseas, so don't expect to slide your hands in and out too easily. They are quick drying and very durable.

Comments about Kuhl Liberator Convertible Pants - Men's 30" Inseam:
The gusseted crotch is not as roomy on these pants as other kuhl pants I own in the same size.

Comments about Kuhl Liberator Convertible Pants - Men's 30" Inseam:
Just to preface, I only had these pants for a limited time before returning them -- worn on 2 local day hikes, and a couple trips around town.
Materials and build quality were nice (then again, I didn't exactly but them through the wringer). Lightweight fabric and seemed to breathe well. Pockets were a little shallow for my liking, and cargo pockets are horribly placed (on the front of the thighs vs. the side).
Biggest complaint was the waistband that always seemed to dig into me... just couldn't get comfortable in these.
IMO, there are better pants available. Exchanged these for a pair of prAna Zion pants and couldn't be happier.

Comments about Kuhl Liberator Convertible Pants - Men's 30" Inseam:
Nice feel, comfortable, shed water well but wear like wax paper. Seams ripped, seat worn through after 2 Grand Canyon and 1 Sierra backpacking trips, fewer than 20 days total. I wouldn't consider using them for anything but casual, around-town wear.

These hiking pants are great. I've essentially replaced almost all of the jeans in my closet with various colors of these. They're a little expensive, but they seem like they'll last forever. Definitely will purchase them again.

Comments about Kuhl Liberator Convertible Pants - Men's 30" Inseam:
I cannot rate this product because I did not wear them. I returned the two pair I ordered because the inseam of 30 inches which I ordered and shown on the manufacturer's tag was nearly 32 inches.

Comments about Kuhl Liberator Convertible Pants - Men's 30" Inseam:
I love(ed) this pair of pants for the short time I had them. My wife washed and air dried them after a recent trip to Utah where I wore them 4 out 5 days on the trail. Although they are 77% nylon/23% cotton, that 23% cotton shrunk in length, So much that they were too short for comfort. I'm puzzled by this because my other Kuhl pants never shrink.
I am 5'9" and have a 33" waist. I am not out of shape by any means but Kuhls recent pant designs cater to bodies beyond athletic in my opinion. The 32" waist is way too small/tight, the 34" waist (slightly big) fit well enough with a belt, but was too baggy in the legs. For the record, I have 2 pair of Kuhl pants that are 4 years old (waist size 32, inseam 30) and they fit great.
I like the direction Kuhl is going in construction and design, but they need to do in-between waist sizes (31,33,35, etc.) if I am going purchase their pants in the future.
I recommend this pant for persons with small waists and muscular legs.
