Comments about Brooks PureConnect Road-Running Shoes - Women's:
I bought these Brooks Road-Runners initially because my weightlifting trainer said I needed flat-soled shoes so she could tell if my heal was on the ground when I was doing heavy lifting. These have since become my favorite everyday shoes. They are extremely comfortable, and light weight. They let my feet breath. I wear them to walk my dog (several miles on paved streets) as well as to the gym, grocery store, and just around the house. Love these shoes!

There was only one color scheme available. I would've liked to have had a variety of colors to chose from.

It was exactly what i was looking for. I run barefoot and needed some cush. It has minimal foot restriction and i have been able to keep the same running form i used prevously. I do not find them comfortable to walk in-the heel striking first, due to the angle of the footbed.

Comments about Brooks PureConnect Road-Running Shoes - Women's:
I have been running in FiveFingers for awhile now as it comes much more naturally to me than running in heeled sneakers (I'm a former dancer - I still walk around the house on the balls of my feet). I ended up injuring my knee which made running in the VFF's almost impossible, and I was truly hoping these Brooks would provide the relief I sought while still giving me the feeling of "minimalist" running. Long story short, they did not.
Pros:
- Good looks
- Lightweight
Cons:
- Unstable
- Wear out quickly (Not my experience, but I found it in many online reviews prior to buying them, and it influenced my decision to return them after discovering how unstable they were)
I bought the Brooks only when REI staff assured me that I could return them if I didn't like running in them. They felt extremely unstable, to the point where I thought I was going to sprain an ankle running on level pavement. After decades of dance/hiking/etc., that should not be an issue, but I was going ALL over the place in these shoes. It was awful. I wonder if my experience would have been different had I moved from normal running shoes to the Brooks instead of from VFF's, but the Vibrams definitely have me planted in all the right places.
Service and delivery comments:
Purchased in store. REI's store and return policies are bar-none; they let me jog through the store and allowed me to buy-and-try and subsequently return when they didn't work out. I'm proud and thankful to be a member!

Comments about Brooks PureConnect Road-Running Shoes - Women's:
I am a beginner runner and to be honest have no idea what kind of shoe I need. I saw great reviews on this one and went with it. Straight out of the box comfortable. Super light compared to what I ever wore before and I just want to wear them all the time.
I run/walk around 20 miles a week on a treadmill, so beyond errands after a workout I haven't used them on the road. I think they will be fine though. I also love that they just "look" good. They don't make my feet feel like they look fat and frumpy like some athletic shoes do. It's a cute athletic shoe.

Comments about Brooks PureConnect Road-Running Shoes - Women's:
I have been searching high and low for running shoes with a great arch support. I had been fairly loyal to nike, but support wise they were not giving me what I needed. I am so glad I decided to look at brooks, I have no complaints with these, they have been wonderful and feel amazing. The arch support is very high. These have changed my run completely.

Comments about Brooks PureConnect Road-Running Shoes - Women's:
I loved this shoe. Right out of the box I did a hilly 8 mile run, amazingly comfortable-I thought I had found my "sole" mate! However, after putting only 300 miles on the shoe, it's a bust:( I talked with the Brooks representative and this is what he said " Pure's are designed as a minimal type shoe. Because of their construction their life span is estimated at between 250-300 miles." Very disappointed, I wish I would have known that before buying them. Spread the word that this is a GREAT shoe, but only for a short time.

Comments about Brooks PureConnect Road-Running Shoes - Women's:
This shoe is the best of both worlds, super lightweight and supportive! I have previously owned Merril barefoot shoes, which are great products as well. However, on longer runs and for trails, I really needed a little more cushioning. I run an average of 3-6 miles at a time, about 5 times a week. I am petite so I really hate bulky running shoes! Putting my feet into these shoes is like stepping on a pillow! As long as you need a neutral arch, these are perfect. These fit snug to your feet, like the original barefoot shoes (so no socks are needed), so you may want to try them on at a store to ensure the exact size you need. Very comfortable run with these shoes and equally as comfortable just walking around with jeans and a t!

Comments about Brooks PureConnect Road-Running Shoes - Women's:
Following up on a previous review (written March 17th), just wanted to come back and say I'm now on my second pair of these. I got about 250miles on my first pair before the sole was just too worn out (in terms of traction) for me to feel great about running in them. That said, the sole cushioning was still great and they still look good with jeans, so I'm still wearing them- just not running.
I had been worried about longer runs with these for the lack of structure to both the sole and upper, but they've been spectacular throughout marathon training and I intend to wear them on Sunday for the Portland Marathon. With the only exception being the sole wearing out quickly, I really have nothing bad to say about them. Plus, the colors are super vibrant and they get lots of compliments :)
I also bought the PureGrits for a trail half I did a couple months ago; they were similarly great and are also nice for day hikes if you don't like much of a boot.
summary: Brooks hit it out of the park with these.

Comments about Brooks PureConnect Road-Running Shoes - Women's:
I have had this shoe for a few months and it has motivated me to run. The Brooks PureConnect is comfortable right out of the box, and although the shoe doesn't have a break in period I would say my legs did. I formerly was a heel striker and now I have a shorter mid-foot stride. I would say it is wearing more quickly than a shoe with a full rubber sole, but due to the exceptional comfort I will purchase this shoe again.
