good for long trip with lots of gear i.e. dive, snorkeling,shoes,boots,cold weather gear etc. Easy to wheel but weigh it before you hit the skies otherwise you will be overweight.

This bag has it all! I own numerous different roller duffers, but the one is my favorite. I've taken this bag on multiple international trips and is my "go to" bag for any long hall trips. It has taken a lot of abuse but stills looks and performs like it's new.

This bag is perfect for holding 2+ weeks of clothes plus gear. The size is the perfect dimensions to fit in checked baggage. The internal and external straps are perfectly placed for strapping down the contents and I love the elastic straps that hold down the excess external strap so they aren't flapping around and being snagged on things. Even my TNF Thunder duffel bags don't have those...such a simple thing, but love that REI put those on this bag. Another great feature is the separate compartment that you can put dirty clothes/shoes in so they aren't getting the rest of your clean clothes nasty.

The handle and frame is some of the most solid I've felt on a bag and the wheels have tackled mud, dirt and cobblestone with ease. All of the handles are perfectly placed for easy carrying and it has no problems being fully loaded and standing upright without falling.

This is hands down my favorite bag and I am always excited for longer trips when I get to take this with me!

Real good design. We have two because we take trips to East Asia that can last awhile. Last time we were checking into an airport in Japan, I turned to my wife and said, "I really love this bag." The wheels are great, and the 'beast' is maneuverable. These things can roll as fast as I can walk.

We don't seem to do the kind of travel that goes from car trunk to airport to car trunk. We usually have some walking, and maybe train-and-bus-riding. These are big bags that carry lots of stuff, including shoes for guys with big feet. And occasional swim fins and baseball bats. They are built well; you can cinch theme tight, and they follow like a tight shadow through train stations and across sidewalks and streets en route to bus stops or hotels.

They are big, though, and that means you need to find places to store them. We don't use them much for domestic travel. It's a good product for REI-type people. After more than a year of occasional use, no problems with zippers or other parts.

I loved the bag until I discovered damage after just one flight. One of the tubes that form the backbone of this bag broke the first time out. The extendible handle slides into and out of these tubes, which double to enable the bag to stand up. It apparently was broken by baggage handlers working for Southwest Airlines. Tubes need to be made from a much stronger material.

We needed to replace a traditional black rolling suitcase with one that would fit our active lifestyle, standout from all the other black rolling luggage in the luggage rack at the airport and handle a trip via public transportation to Europe. The bag and its mate, a roll on board 22" were awesome companions. They are amazingly light. They track perfectly when manuvering around. They handled long walks on cobblestones, being lugged up and down stairs, boats, trains, planes and automobiles. I always worry about zippers, and these are super solid and easy to open & close. While my husband loved the blue color, I will wait to see if REI comes out with another color before I get a set for myself. If not, I guess Duke blue it will be!
