Comments about REI Camp Dome 6 Tent - Special Buy:
REI does it again! My gf had a camp dome 4 when we started dating 8 years ago, and it is still in use today. We have taken that thing car camping EVERYWHERE. Joshua Tree (probably at least 50 times), Yosemite, Rock Creek (Eastern Sierra), Tahoe areas, Soggy Dry Lake and Johnson Valley Dry Lakes (Socal high desert), Zion, Red Rocks (Nevada), Black Butte (Oregon), Redwood NP (Norcal), Big Sur (Central Ca), etc etc etc. That camp dome 4 has treated us very well. Super easy to set up and take down. Has taken abuse from her small nephew that has come with us numerous times. Does well in the rain, dirt, dust, etc. Only problem was that, after 7 years, we were out at Soggy dry lake during thanksgiving and a big wind kicked up (maybe 60+ mph, it was crazy) and blew the tent away (we didnt stake it down, like morons). The end result was a snapped tent pole. The tent has been used several times since, but I figured it was time for a new one anyways, so rather than replace the poles I just ordered this new camp dome, but this time got the camp dome 6. I expect to use this tent for at least 8 years, just like the last one I had. It surely would have lasted longer if it was staked down or had some hheavy stuff in it. Even still, [$] for a tent that will last at least 8 years... that's less than 25 bucks a year for a great, easy to set up tent. great deal in my book. If you counted all the trips we have taken (avg 1 weekend per month during the year and more in winter) about 15 per year times 8 years, thats about 120 trips for a tent that cost ~180 bucks. $1.50 per trip!!!The REI brand gear gets better and better every year, and the tents are no exception. Car camping only though! heavy tent, not designed for backpacking or stuff like that. I have a MSR ultralight tent for that, but this tent fits the car camping bill perfect. I especially love the clips for the tent poles rather than the sleeves to slide the pole through. The clips are so easy and quick.

Comments about REI Camp Dome 6 Tent - Special Buy:
I am a young 65 year old woman. I bought this tent because I can no longer crawl in and out of the smaller tents. While this says 6 people, it is comfortable with 2 with air mattresses or cots, for one, it is a palace! I set it up in my yard before I took it camping to be sure I could do it by myself. It went up pretty easily. When I went camping, I had to set it up with a flashlight. Because I knew what to expect, it went up pretty easily. I am happy with the tent and will use it as often as I have the opportunity.

Comments about REI Camp Dome 6 Tent - Special Buy:
We used this tent to float the Smith River in May and it was very comforatable for the two of us and fit in a medium dry bag. Aluminum poles a plus but fly poles require patience. Great tent for float or car camping but 3-4 people NOT 6 as stated.

Nice tent with good value. Small for 6 people, good for 2-3 person with queen size air mattress. Very easy to set up and carry.
