Comments about Novara Carema Pro Women's Bike - 2013:

I purchased this bike for my wife, as she is getting serious in her cycling. At this price point, the component group is very solid - 105 shifters and rear derailleur, with tiagra components for the rest. The frame is very stiff and nicely responsive.

It's four of five stars, since it lacks a 105 front derailleur, but it's very solid and hard to beat at this price point.

Comments about Novara Carema Pro Women's Bike - 2013:

First of all, I can't pick my true description at the top. I am making my way from recreational to avid cyclist! This is my first road bike, which is why I can only give it 4 stars instead of 5 -- simply because I am not expert enough. I started doing Sprint triathlons with a couple of my girl-friends last summer and rode a hybrid bike through 2 of them and all of the training. I could stay up with my friends just fine -- then Christmas came and they both got new road bikes (one was $1400 and the other $2000+ all carbon frame). The next time we rode together I COULD NOT keep up! I was so disappointed! I did some research and decided I needed a road bike (it said that you would average 2-3 mph faster on a road bike than on a hybrid), but didn't want to break the bank.
I checked around at local bike shops and at REI. There was a bike at the bike shop I really liked and almost got, until I saw this one. The Carema Pro was a good $400 cheaper, had components that were a step up. The only set back was that the other bike was all carbon. Being at my level, I don't know that makes a big difference for me.
I couldn't wait to get out and ride with my friends again, hoping the bike would make a difference. It DID!! I had no problem keeping up and a couple times had to slow down to wait for them. This bike is great for the price and I glad I got it!
            Oh! It's cute too!
