Comments about Garmin Forerunner 210 GPS Fitness Monitor:
I got this model to replace a Forerunner 405. In comparison, the 210 is simpler to use, has much better battery life, and is much less bulky. I miss some of the features from the 405, primarily the auto-stop and the ability to set up specifically for biking. However, for the price I have no complaints. The 210 does what I need, connects to the satellites as quickly as the 405 did and I've never lost a signal while outdoors.
The usb connection to download is cumbersome and often takes a few tries to connect - this is the only real design flaw in my opinion. The battery life is terrific, and I often wear this as my every day watch, which I never did with the 405. Overall, this device works very well for my needs for biking and running, and I'm very pleased with it.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner 210 GPS Fitness Monitor:
I have been using this watch for several months now and absolutely love it. As a woman, I was worried it would be too bulky, but I like it so much I often use it as an everyday watch. It has just enough functions for someone like me who runs 4-5 days a week and does a few half marathons a year. The pace options (current or average) are a big plus for me. Even though I love the ability to upload my runs to either garmin or mapmyrun, my only complaint is how finicky it is when connecting to the computer (usually takes some wiggling and a few tries to get the computer to recognize it for upload). If not for that issue, I would give it 5 stars.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner 210 GPS Fitness Monitor:
The device is great as long as you don't plan to download your workouts. It does not have the +ANT capability and the cable connection on the device itself is horrible. If the device didn't work so well on runs, I would lose my patients and throw it out when trying to download the workouts.
I love Garmin but they really screwed up the connection on this device. Read reviews around the internet...I'm not the only one frustrated with this.
I would recommend a different Forerunner if you want to download workouts.
Overall though, it works great on runs and workouts.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner 210 GPS Fitness Monitor:
I bought this watch to train for a half marathon. I chose it over the Garmin 110 because of its interval feature, and over the higher end models because I didn't feel like I needed the super advanced features.
I'm very happy with this watch! It's very easy to use and the Garmin Connect software is very informative as it helps me track all of my running data. I don't have easy access to a track, but the interval feature allows me to do intervals and mile repeats where I want.
Two cons:
- the USB clip that connects the watch to the computer is clumsy, as others have mentioned. It always takes me a few tries to connect it correctly.
- the current pace function does not appear to be very accurate. I haven't had a problem since I switched over to lap pace (min/mile).

This was my first GPS watch. Overall I am happy with it and would buy it again. If you want a simple to use GPS watch with standard features. This is for you. You just strap it on and run. No frills. Keep track of your time, pace and heart rate ( with optional HR monitor)
I had used the 210 for a while now, about 170 hours. Over 177 times and 1,182 miles. Have been on runs over 4 hours and the battery held up fine. People complain about the charger. Yeah, there is a little learn curve. Just jiggle it a little bit and it hooks up fine. Garmin Connect ( the online site you download to) leave a little to be desired. There are other , online sites you can use the 210 with.
Do a Google search on DC Rainmaker. That man has extremely comprehensive reviews of most all GPS watches. They are unbiased as well. Was a great resource for me before I purchased the 210.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner 210 GPS Fitness Monitor:
I have a Garmin Edge 200 for my bike, was attempting to use it for hiking/running before I bought the Garmin Forerunner 210, better fit.
I like this unit. It's easy to use, the signal is found quick. It tracks all of the vitals that I want to know, including heart rate if you have a Garmin HR strap. It's great that you can use it with Garmin Connect to track your activities.
As a GPS unit, it's great. As a heart rate monitor, it's on par with my Polar monitor. It finds the HR strap faster then my Polar. A couple of things my Polar does that I wish this unit did is display other HR vitals besides current HR. You can see the avg HR and calories burned later, but not live. Also, a great feature of the Polar that would be great for this unit is the ability to turn on the backlight by bringing it close to the strap, instead of hitting the backlight button.
You can use this for biking as well, but it's not as good as one of the Garmin Edge products. The Forerunner 210 doesn't do an autopause, so stopped at a light or corner registers as part of the trip, the Garmin Edges pause automatically to give you your "moving" stats.
The USB interface is sometimes buggy. Clipping the USB accessory onto the unit takes some practice to get it right. I have a Garmin GPS Golf unit as well, uses the same interface, so I had some practice already. Once it does connect, it's easy to upload your activities to the Garmin Connect website.

Comments about Garmin Forerunner 210 GPS Fitness Monitor:
I loved my 405 but it finally died. I was drawn to this one by the lower price & smaller profile. I have very small wrists & it fits fine. I use it for running & hiking & never find that it's in the way as my 405 sometimes was. I do miss the "auto pause" feature and larger screen. Navigation to the different screens sometimes takes a few more clicks. I seldom used the maps/routes features of the 405, so I feel this one is the best comprimise between bulky that does everything, and slim but missing a few features.

I bought this watch to replace the combo iPhone+runkeeper, hoping to gain some weight and have less to carry.
I don't know if it is only my model, or where I live but where my iPhone pickup satellites instantly, this watch doesn't and takes from 5 to 20mn without any predictable information. While in the process of finding satellite, it is not usable.
As a result, it is just unusable for me, absolutely... I am really disappointed about that product, and on my way back to the iPhone except if Garmin support find a solution but I doubt there are, as it seems other reported similar issues.

I used this once, and it seemed to work fine. I hooked it up online and uploaded my run. Today, I ran again, and it seemed to be fine until I hooked it up to my computer, at which time it WENT COMPLETELY BLANK! A friend has the same one and says you just have to wait for the battery to die, and recharge it. Garmin forum users report similar issues...reset works for some, but not for me. Hope it works for my race next weekend -- which is why I bought it. If not I may be taking it back to the REI near the finish line...

Replaced my wife's Forerunner 50. She loves it! No calibration required. Works with the her 50 accessories. Foot pod not required but can be calibrated for indoor use and under canopy cover use while hiking. She loves that it's no fuss. Thinking of getting me one.
