Comments about WrightSock Double-Layer Hiking Xtra Crew Socks - Unisex - 2010 Closeout:
I've had these socks for a year now, and only worn them about 10 times (always casually, never on hikes). Despite such light use, both socks have terrible holes in the heel. Apparently they consist of a mesh matrix onto which is woven other, fuzzier fibers. The latter have all worn away, leaving just the mesh. Also the toe seem is rather thick, and has started separating on one sock.
I found these very uncomfortable since day one. Yes, they are warm, but that's because they stifle my feet. They don't breathe at all.

The socks are great for about 4 to 6 months if you wear them every day. I had 5 pairs and within that short amount of time holes in the heals.

I just wish I'd bought 10 more pairs. The bunch a little between the two socks when you're trying to get them on but while hiking the fit is perfect. Also...I didn't experience any chaffing while even hiking up a wet river bed.
